Canes Camp Report: Day 6

Good stuff. Some brief observations:

- Owens definitely looks the part
- LBs are big AND fast, it appears. Much better than just...big
- Some interesting zone drills being run in that video - Owens running a TE "pass-off" and drill to cover flats
- Nice touch from both Heaps and Kaaya in the middle of the field - Hallelujah!
- Duke/Yearby = a lot of broken ankles

Best thing I saw IMO was that, with the exception of the Yearby run, nothing looked "easy." Every catch was contested, nobody looked horribly lost... Yes, they're highlights, but I remember some PotD from last year (and even this spring) that were just WIDE open pitch-and-catch or running lanes with nobody around for miles.

The throw from Kaaya to Duke Johnson in between defenders is something we've missed here for many years.

/Repeating to self: Will resist the temptation to buy into the hype before I see it live.

Team just seems to be more together then last year. We didn't have the confidence in one another and the ability to play together like we should. the team looked lost. i like the feel of this years team. they look ready to fight every game with one another. love that Herb said he thinks we have the best WR corp in the country. that confidence. we didnt get that kind of talk in previous years under Golden.

Owens is goin to be special here, the kid has impressed the **** out of me
Is he the one that worked his *** off to EE or was that Young? I remember reading something about one of them taking night classes and working hard to be able to EE.

both of them worked very hard but Owens did a LOT of work in a little time.

Yeah, I think that's what I was remembering. Something like he was a possible non-qualifier and ended up EE.

Awesome vid.
Armbrister definitely looks the part.. Now he has to play the part. Needs to become more of a playmaker.
Owens looks like he's a natural. Excited about his future.
