"Can You Win Without Recruiting the State of Miami?" Article

Strange. Even if Mullen really wants to de-emphisize south Florida recruiting, it would be really stupid to make a public statement about it.

Nobody who wants to win are ignoring South Florida. Our biggest competition are the biggest bag boys. If with an unlimited budget and a blind eye from the NCAA bama Clemson OSU and Georgia are prioritizing South Florida my guess would be it makes sense to recruit there

Nice way to say Richt putting up those walls only chance you got is dropping bags and plenty of them

The best thing uf has going is that it's closer to Miami than almost any other team in the nation. I can't describe how stupid not emphasizing SFLA would be. Even for the gayters.

This is really what it boils down to . I feel like right now we’re getting all the guys who really want to (and have the talent to be) Canes . We can’t do anything about the guys being bought no matter how much we moan and groan about it. It is what is. So far this staff has done a good job recruiting the guys who that has no effect on

Hopefully UM uses this and negatively recruits against UF.

If this article was about UM.. you best believe every team would use this against us.

Sounds great to me I hope he does chase out of state kids and let us keep these kids home.

if u hit on all your top targets in other areas, beating out other power 5 programs, including Miami, for multiple recruiting seasons, then sure why not.

It is hard to recruit in Miami as Miam and FSU have their favorites. Also there is no loyalty like there is in the small towns near Gainsville. Could recruit a kid for a couple of years and then that kid goes to Bama, OSU, or UGA. It is life for Miami but a guy like Mullen just has no stomach for it.

Can’t blame him. A smart coach at UF emphasizes Jacksonville, Tampa, and north Florida and South Georgia while cherry picking SFL and national kids.

Miami is tough to emphasize cuz there’s no loyalty and a lot of games, so any school not Miami shouldn’t rely on SFL to build their roster. Just use it to supplement their natural recruiting base.

Even the Hurricanes should deemphasize Miami. I've said this before and i've said it again: we need to redouble efforts in central and north Florida as well as neighboring Georgia.

The cesspool mix of street agents, "leaders of men", dirty high school coaches, and inner city prima donnas and drama queens, all slathered up with SEC moneybags...better for Miami to cherrypick S FL instead of wasting valuable time recruiting these mercenary kids. That's the lesson of Jorbe and Tyson Campbell, both bought and sold by SEC moneybags.

Lock down the Dade and broward kids that want to be canes and won’t be playing games like Ivey, Rousseau, and pope. Tell the rest of em to kick rocks. Focus our time on Palm and everything north of Palm.
