At this point, I would value their opinion over all. Add one to the staff.
You need someone to tell you that top level recruits won’t go to a school that doesn’t drop bags, is irrelevant, goes 7-6 and has a joke of a staff? Really? At this point, I would value their opinion over all. Add one to the staff.
I’m actually pretty good at body language, read a couple books on it, spent a lot of time just people watching, spent a lot of time playing poker. With Bogle and Stevenson they both were standing in front of and closest to the hats of their choice. In each case The Miami hat was furthest away from them. These were some not so subtle tells before the commercial break. After the break they both move forward and to their respective hats before giving a thank you speech then ultimately choosing other schools. I don’t remember exactly but bogle mentioned how hard it was because of the relationships developed during recruiting, it should of been obvious it was a business decision at that point; he did look genuinely torn. Stevenson looked comfortable with his decision. I’m now beginning to think that when a family member is there wearing SEC gear at their sons commitment it’s shows what school is paying the parent for the commitment.
I would love it if they could employ the Saban rule: If you’ve verbally committed and you go on an official to another school, scholarship rescinded. Obviously, UM can’t do this yet until they start winning consistently, but I would limit the un-official access many get throughout the season. As mentioned on other threads, the recruits take advantage.I’ll do it. If they commit and then their mouth says they will commit at an all star game or body visits another school, yank their offer.
