Not sure, but continuity is important in college as it gets kids stable and playing to their best position. Generally, unless the coordinator is awful, its best to keep him on as continuity is more important than a little better play calling, though usually you can switch every 3-4 years without having those issues.

Im positive that Golden mentioned this at one of his first pressers. He committed to them for 5 years and they promised to not jump ship before they put in 5 years. This is why a really doubt any coach leaves unless an amazing promotion comes along.

Did this happen prior to the news about the sanctions breaking? I'm not suggesting in anyway that he is going anywhere, but at the same time I don't think one can rely on what Al said prior to the sanctions talk.

That being said, he has said since the sanctions that he is staying (not sure about the other coaches guaranteeing anything). But then countering myself, coaches say things and then do the opposite all of the time (Butch, Saban, etc.). Again, I am not suggesting that Al is going anywhere, but to say that Al said he was staying put does not guaranty anything, especially if more information came to his attention about the NCAA than he knew before saying that. Basically, I don't think any of us knows for sure what he is going to do, but based on what he has said and how he has acted, I assume he is staying, but would not be shocked if he didn't.

Dont buy it. Even if it was said. Contracts are made to be broken.

Easier said than done. Especially if Miami has a big year in 2013, guys like Fisch and McDonald could get serious interest both at bigger programs and the NFL.

If miami has a big year in 2013, why would anyone wanna leave? If Miami becomes legitimate you stay til you got that ring..

Just like Butch, Schiano, and Pagano did? What a staff that was, 3 NFL head coaches on one college staff, probably be 4 if Chud gets a HC job one day. Bottom line is coaching is like any other job, people leave for financial reward.

Did this dude just say bigger programs. Miami is a bigger program when it is right. Miami has never lost a coach to another school unless a promotion was involved. Fisch is already an OC and QB coach so unless someone offers him a HC gig, I don't see him bolting for another school. I could see McDonald wanting a shot to call plays but it is more likely he goes back to the NFL. I could also see Fisch getting a OC gig in the league if our offense progresses the way we think it will.

That would be great, but being a realist, I look at it like this: I want coaches that are coveted by other programs and get promotions up the coaching ladder. Thats when you when you have a good staff. Historically, UM's best staffs have had some sort of turnover....
