Calvin Russell III (c/o ‘26)

Maybe when we find a Coach L replacement we can get serious about this kid? Bad moment for our BB team to have pulled an FSU and gone from boom to bust in one season.

I still believe Mario and Beard will land him in the end though.

Brady, Russell, Cooper.

Need all 3. Going into year 4. It’s time. This is the top 3-5 class.
Cooper is the only one here we should sweat over lol. Jrock is way more important than the other other 2

I know rankings and sfla just automatically makes someone a priority for most of us but brady and russell aren’t at the level we should be stressing over lol

If we playing the optics game then yea you’re right

Boom to bust regarding Miami basketball must be a reference to last year's team?

It's been a rough two season stretch

Fact. I watched the film on all of them. Brady & Russell are nice prospects but they don't pop on film the way J Rock does, he has the talent to be a factor immediately.

Does anyone honestly think any top player is seriously going to be playing all that much basketball if they are taking Football serious as a WR? I doubt it

All these kids always think they can juggle both like Bo Jackson, and then they realize after one year on campus they need to give something up

its mostly the s&c component.

In high school your the man and u practice....go home...have weight training as a class maybe

sh*T IS different in College. Everyone is at your level u cant coast in the weightroom because unlike at mnw there is 10 coaches in there tallying everything your doing with your position group guys bussin their *** as well.

The lil frere time u have for the skirts you dont want to spend in the **** bball gym running gassers after winter conditioning weight lifts with football team at 5am.

That being said he likely can be on our bball team that is void of talent atleast hes a legit 6'5 with solid enough handle. He would be an end of the bench guy here imo

Why do you think he likes Syracuse? I have no idea whether he is "good enough" or not, but some seem to think so.
Exactly! Whether or not he is good enough is not at issue here. His mom is in the UM basketball HOF. You tell him yes of course you can play basketball then let everything work itself out. You don't tell him no while every school in America is telling him yes. That just breaks down communication and limits your options.

Mario is just too stubborn to see 3 moves ahead sometimes. Just tell the kid yes he can play both. What's the worst thing that can happen? Russell will probably realize at some point that his future is in football and just shut down basketball himself but we have to give him the space to realize that on his own.

@DMoney with the first listing of key recruits in the 26 recruiting cycle in the 1/31 Bank.

Derek Cooper (Chaminade) and Calvin Russell (Northwestern) are obviously major targets locally on offense.
