We need to become the business decision for DBs. That takes time. Nesta Silvera made his own business decision to sign with the best defensive line coach in America. Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory made business decisions to sign with TEU. Jarren Williams made a business decision to sign with a proven developer of QBs.

This is a big-time class. Best offensive class in the nation and very good defensive group. Nesta was the guy keeping me up at night. Him and Ezzard are nasty human beings. Jordan Miller was a gift from the nose tackle Gods. Bethel will be next development project for Rumph. Mike Jackson and Adrian Colbert turned out pretty well.

Richt is one of the most proven recruiters in America, along with Saban and Urban. This class is another feather in his cap.

In one sentence you admit it’s a failure we didn’t land these studs from rumphs school

And in the next you say you don’t agree with any criticism directed towards rumph for this failure you’ve already admitted to

Rumph wasn’t brought in because he was a top CB coach in college or the pros,he was brought in from the HS ranks because he is a cane Legend from a sofla powerhouse and we wanted to poach the top talent from there

They already have. Look at the recruiting rankings. I expect the trend to continue upwards.

I don’t really understand why we didn’t offer a couple other dbs in s fla also. There’s a few 4 star kids that might’ve come if we croot them

You argument is a fail. So why couldn't we close on Colburt or another blue chip DT with Kool?.

What brought all those studs to Ole Miss. What started Clemson's upward recruiting trend.

You gotta play the game and pay to get the premium talent. No excuses. We recruited a gazillion Wrs. Why couldn't we keep home one 5 star DB from a local school that used to be coached by our current DB coach?

We failed on Jobe, Surtain & Campbell and we even put Jobe up at a prep school.
 
Well CMR needs to make a business decision and get some coaches on the defensive side that can stop us from whiffing cause I’m sick of this. We win 10 games made our first ACC championship game & even made a top bowl game. Yet our DB coach who use to coach these two kids can’t get either one of them....get 1 atleast come on man. Just have Hartley recruit every **** body from here on out.

he can coach and develop CBs in his time here. thats what why he shouldn't be gone but def bring in a defensive recruiter as the 10th guy

Appreciate your insights and opinions. Here, I think you are sugarcoating the failure on the defensive side of the ball. The class has some major holes at lb and DL, and loosing out on Jobe, PS2 and Tyson is not acceptable. Bethel and Miller hopefully they work out. But relying on under the radar kids is risky business. We need to be able to sign elite local kids and defensively missing out too much.

I disagree if the elite talent from SFL get together were in the Playoffs with bama and uga. Those 2 have the talent to be 1st round picks which ever school they go too. **** Burns was a 1st round pick with Paul Williams as his db coach. Until the SFL elite talent decides to stop hyping the sec and stay home we wont be an elite program

Let’s read between the lines. Of course a coach is brought to a school to coach. But when it comes to a high school guy with zero college coaching experience, it is expected that they will start a pipeline from their former institution. Rumph is probably not getting hired without the connection to get some of the best talent soflo has to offer.

There's a difference between admitting a failed objective and calling for someone to be fired.

Excuses. He’s not meeting expectations on the recruiting trail especially in South Fla where he has all the resources to be successful. Address the problem this year and not pretend everything is going great or as expected.

Agreed up until that last part. Richt is a tier below Saban and Liar. Liar lost out on a 5* in his backyard then swooped in and pulled a 5* from Florida. Still a good recruiter but those guys are on another level.
