Because he has some tools to work with and he's not a finished product. Buckshot been killing it against top Dade county competition and every single event he's winning it for Strong Arm. I could only imagine how much better he can get with work in the weight room.

Plus I expect Kaaya to leave as a Junior. Rosier could totally David Thompson the qb position leaving to baseball. Sherreifs has some things I like but was a last minute take when we lost Lawson.

We need 2 this year for 2016 and possibly 2 again in 2017 pending Kaayas decision and also what Rosier chooses.

Give me Buckshot over the Dame kid for 2016 to go along with Allison and give me Jake Allen from St. Thomas to go along with Centeio in 2017.

We need depth at QB. Quality depth.



This is not including that injuries and transfers happen.

In college football. You need at least 3 or 4 qbs in the stable and the most 5. We have been playing with fire at the position for the last few years.

He was 44-60 with 447 yards and 3 TD's last week... He may not be a Miami starting caliber QB but give the kid credit when credit is due. He is a legitimate FBS QB. Liberty got a steal when they signed him. If he keeps playing like this he'll be on the draft radar by the time his college days are over. He threw 5 TD's yesterday.
 
If he isn't here then I don't care where or how well he does it. Don't hype a kid that wouldn't play here.

If we started signing kids with offer lists like his not only would our fans be in an uproar but Richt would get fired after 3 seasons.

Liberty was literally his best offer. Not going to lose sleep over this. Some guys just slip through the cracks. For every Buckshot Calvert, there are 20 Gray Crows

Some of these guys think we should have signed everyone who has any success at any level of football. Just because a guy does well at Liberty doesn't mean he'd do well at a marquee P5 level.

Baylor just got whipped by another FCS program last weekend. Should we have signed that FCS QB too?

Watched the Baylor vs Liberty game and could not believe how good Buckshot was. He is much better than our top two qbs. Dude has the it factor. I am shocked he is not playing at a higher level even like FIU or FAU if not Miami

We need that UT San Antonio QB too. He just went 15-20 with no interceptions and beat Baylor last week.

Honestly, I didn't know much about Doughty coming out. With 20/20 hindsight, he would have done well here getting the ball to the playmakers.

What I like about South Florida QBs is that they are quick thinkers. You don't get the 6'5 robotic guys. They're used to going against D1 DBs, throwing to D1 WRs and getting chased around by 4.6 guys behind bad OLs. Seven-on-seven helps them too, IMO.
