33. Al Golden, Miami
Record at Miami: 22-15 (3 years)
Career Record: 49-49 (8 years)
Miami’s Program Rank: No. 3 in the ACC, No. 21 nationally

Golden is a tough coach to rank among his ACC peers. On the positive side: Miami has increased its win total in each of the last two seasons after winning six games in Golden’s debut. The Hurricanes are also seeing an uptick in recruiting, bringing in the No. 12 (2014), No. 14 (2013) and No. 10 (2012) classes after signing the No. 33 group in 2011. But here’s the bad news: This is Miami – the No. 3 coaching job in the ACC. The Hurricanes are still looking for their first appearance in the conference championship, and Golden has yet to produce a ranked team in the final Associated Press poll. With the No. 2 roster in the ACC, Miami needs to win at a higher level. Prior to taking over in Coral Gables, Golden took Temple from a 1-11 record in 2006 to a program with back-to-back winning seasons in 2009-10. Some of the Owls’ success under Golden was due to the transition to the MAC, but Golden helped to mold Temple from one of the worst programs back to respectability. 2014 should be a telling year for Golden and his overall leadership at Miami, as the Hurricanes have the talent to win the Coastal. However, enough questions remain that Miami could finish third in the division.

does this really mean anything other than its filling up space in a sports rag...let me guess...SEC coaches fill up 75% of the to 10...

also having Franklin and at 11 is a joke....Guy gets assraped in the SEC for years and has not played a down in the big 10...
Also Golden above Dabo is a joke...sure dabo chokes but he is a cold stone recruiter and has won the acc etc..

Golden has shown he can recruit, maybe not as great a recruiter as we thought, but the coaching needs to improve dramatically.

No, you're not a scatologist, but you know a **** when you see one

I didn't realize how many bad coaches have high paying jobs. Al crushed his rep at the end of last year. Skies cleared of the cloud and he was like a bat and could not deal with the bright light. He will go the way of Coker and Randy if this year is not a whole lot different. He better be on his coaches rears because several of them might be coaching high school if this continues and Al gets fired. Williams getting hurt will not give him cover. He will have four scholarship QBs that he recruited -- one better be good. His little dance with PSU had to burn some of his rope with even Donna. Notice the top coaches on the list are all fairly well hated. Being liked does not get NC trophy in the case. Well, unless you are Coaker(please note Al, Larry had to fire a bunch of coaches to get one more year -- hint, hint, and he had some good ones. and Butch leaves you 3 dozen 1st round draft picks and a HOF safety to run your D for you plus an outstanding college QB to run you offense.

Who cares? If it helps with recruiting, great. Not everything requires a temper tantrum. These rankings are BS anyway.

I would have ranked him higher back in 2010/11 before he got to Miami.....but he should be much lower now.

LMAO at Paul Johnson at #46

probably pretty accurate. it's almost impossible to get the good georgia recruits to want to go to georgia tech when athens, auburn, tuscaloosa, and tallahassee are within 4 hours. ****, even us and uf steal their recruits. he's good for 7-9 wins/year at a school where ****** is rarer than diamonds. i hate the guy because he's a raging ****head, but running an outdated offense and winning 7-9 with crappy talent is pretty respectable.

If saying he was ranked the 33rd best coach in the country helps Al recruit, we are recruiting the wrong guys.

This neither helps recruiting nor requires a temper tantrum, precisely because the rankings are BS.

I think this does little at all as well. Possibly nothing. It requires no temper tantrum at all.
