USC released him from his LOI He is back on the market as an unsigned 2019 recruit. Lots of CBs already popping for Texas. He will factor in to the recruiting rankings of whoever he signs with
Didn't he just commit at the Army game? The Kingsbury rumors were well before that. Looks like he enrolled early and didn't like his experience and now needed an excuse to get the **** out lol
He signed the LOI in December but kept it quiet. Announced at AA game.
I dont think they tampered. He committed to play for USC because 1. Mater Dei is a USC Feeder school 2. He committed to play for Kliff Kingsbury and Tee Martin.
He grew real close to the WR coach from Texas during the recruiting process. Sad thing is he probably starts opposite St. Brown next year if he would have stayed at USC.
I listened to Bruce Feldman's podcast on The Audible this morning. He had a USC guy on who said that it wasn't just Kingsbury leaving that cause McCoy to want to jump ship. He said McCoy was very close to Tee Martin and that departure was bigger than Kingsbury. The feeling was they may have been able to salvage him if Martin was still there. But both leaving became a major issue for the family.
USC is in complete chaos right now...... The school - still no president - and the football program. This could be the first year they don't sign a single 5* player and they will have the worst recruiting ranking ever.
I think the Mater Dei relationship was very important in the LOI release...
Jesus.
You mean an Assistant coach who recruited you left for another job??!? Stop the ******* presses. This almost NEVER happens.
This whole thing (recruiting, transfers, waivers, etc) is in the middle of becoming the biggest cluster**** in sports.
Jit look like a grown man.
Think Texas is a done deal.
No way they didn't tamper here btw...
