The brightest point of the game was probably the fact that we held them to 18(even though we gave up another 5 fields) only two individual performances I was impressed with were mike James and EJ...maybe Denzel....duke dances around too much in the backfield sometimes...kinda like Reggie bush....Steve was sort of off but clearly the receivers didn't help out...o line actually played pretty welll, Steve was running forbid life a couple of times but for the most part they gave him time and opened holes for duke and mj....IMO it came down to that that fourth and 6 where Bernard made that diving catch for the first down...if someone would've even been in the general vicinity of that ball, no way he catches that, or if it would've just gone off his fingertips...couldve been a different ball game since that led to the td run and 2 point conversion...heck even if we stopped them on the two pont conversion we may have just needed a fg...but what can you say....if only if only

D played better but still not good. Did give us a chance though. Denzel of all people had a chance to make it happen on a 3rd down but wasn't fast enough to get to Gio. I think his ankle had a little to do with it but Gio is just faster.

Did see some press coverage from our CB's. Maybe coaches are starting to trust them more?

LB's were doing better with their drops into the zone. Stil needs work but they were better.

DL was still really bad but when the momentum was on our side and the crowd was into it, they did slightly better.

Not alot of bright spots on the offense. I did believe we were going to pull it out until Morris turned his ankle though.

Bottom line, the game was there for the taking. As crappy as Morris looked in spots, I think he would've taken us to the victory if not injured.

Oh, and it's hard to say since UNC had **** near 200 penalty yds, but it should've been closer to 250 and less for us. Several bogus calls/non calls by those refs. At least 2 grounding calls didn't happen to Renner and UNC's DB's got to our WR's before the ball arrived at least 3 times so there should've been some more pass interference on them.

Need to learn to tackle better. When we become the team where the first guy brings the ball carrier down, I will be impressed. The first guy always misses the tackle with us.

Dobard and Johnson can't get here soon enough

Our TEs really, really bad (Dye's a good blocker though)

Duke says he's 90-95%. When someone says that, they're not even close to that. I have a feeling he'd be a completely different player at 100%.

Yeah, there were a couple plays where we actually had Gio dead to rights in the backfield and whiff by Ambrister I think. Deon Bush didn't have a good tackling day either. Gio plowed him over one good time. He's a freshman though so I'm not worried.

Bottom line is while the game was there for the taking, we got outplayed....I think we improved defensively. Especially when we were aggressive on First down. Forcing them to throw on second down was huge in the second half. We actually had seven guys in the box a few times.
