Brantley Remains Solid With Miami Following Paradise Camp

This year's Paradise Camp was home to an elite collection of talent, and one of the most loaded groups at the camp was the tight end group. When you have big time 2020 guys competing it can be easy to overlook the younger players, but Miami 2021 TE commit Khalil Brantley did his best to stay in the spotlight.

“I think I did alright. There was a lot of competition out here tonight. I got a lot to improve on.”

Of all the other talented tight ends there, none impressed Brantley more than 2020 5-star Darnell Washington.

“Darnell, 2020, number one in the nation, he's a big guy. Big guy. He’s gonna go up and get it.”

Brantley was able to catch passes from fellow Miami commit Tyler Van Dyke. While he did not get a lot of time building a connection with the Connecticut based passer, Brantley still feels like they could be special together.

“He’s a great QB, great ball skills, great arm. I think we’ll have a great connection.”

Brantley has been one of Miami’s most vocal commits on Twitter and has been open about recruiting other players to join him at Miami. Right now, he has his eyes set on one of his Northwestern teammates.

“Kamren Kinchens. I’m trying to get him to stay home,” Brantley added. “I think we have like a 75% chance. I’m in his ear.”

Brantley also said that he is not interested in visiting any other schools even when the dead period is over.

“I’m not taking other visits this summer. Next summer maybe. It’s pretty much all Miami right now.”

Thats true, thats why i said probably. But the situation is different because even though brantley is a good prospect hes not a 5 star kid like donnell was so i doubt the bag schools will come chasing after him.

Bag schools will be on him... look at brinson. I just think he’s a lil more solid on his pledge and he really wants to make the crib great. And i mean when your hometown college is TEU it’s hard to say no to that.

I know that I never said that...

I knew him and James Williams were going to get bagged up as soon as both were being mentioned as the #1 players at their position.

And when there was talk of Donnell being possibly the #1 overall for 2021, I said to myself “no way in **** are we landing this kid”.

Miami can not keep #1 players at their position from down here home, especially at DB and DL.

Everyone who has followed recruiting down here closely knew those kids would get offered 6 figure bag$, and knowing about Williams situation, we were never landing him b/c he would never turn those bag$ down.

And Harris’s dad showed that he is 100% on the take, and only interested in bag schools, yet they are both all MIAMI and grew up die hard fans lmao.

**** these South FL $ellouts.

Need more like Brantley.

But if Brantley was a 5star or #1 TE for 2021, he might not be so solid with life changing money being offered to his family.

Would be great if the NCAA made an example out of one of these big bag schools like Baga, UbaGA, L$U, Auburn etc... and not just go after the Ole Mi$$es of the world.

I hope that this kid sticks; but I will temper my expectations. I was one of those that pumped his chest regarding 4☆D being ALL MIAMI and that he would NOT DECOMMIT and it bit me. Scares me that KB actually said that " he might take some visits next summer". Don Chaney, Big Baby and X all said they were shutting it down and not taking visits. If he were ALL MIAMI, he would follow in those cats steps.
Still believe (67%) that he's coming.

FACTS

Hard to get a kid thats been named number 1 at his spot cause that put them on the SEC radar. Facts about the life changing money no one can turn it down its very rare and very few turn it down. Thats why we in this cycle cause 8 out of 10 will take the money and losing a plethora of elite talent will keep us in this hole.

786, I hope so as well that he stick to his pledge. But what I'm finding out more and more is that kids making pledges means nothing. There's little integrity, honesty, man of your word these days even with adults. So it's very little in examples that these kids can go by and immulate!

Chaney, Duke Johnson and Big baby's of the world are becoming extinct when it comes to guys sticking to their word that far out. If they love the "U" they come without the dramma. But most of these guys love more the temporary light or their 15 mins of fame then sticking to their commitment. Let's see how it goes in 2020 when their time to sign papers.
