Brandon Lopez suspended

Brandon Lopez is suspended for the beginning of the season, 6 or so games for violating team rules. It will be interesting to see if Iskenderian plays SS in his place as he came in as a SS or if they will keep him at 3rd where he has been getting work. The alumni game saw Thompson slide to 3rd, Iskenderian play SS, and Barr at 1B. Soon we will find out!

Lopez is a nice player, but I think putting Iskenderian/Thompson/Barr in the same lineup increases the overall power of the lineup, IF all of the reports of Barr getting bigger and hitting the ball well in the offseason are true.

That being said--Lopez's D up the middle is pretty good. I wouldn't want a minimal increase in O to correspond with a precipitous decline on D without him.

Interesting, and something to watch here early on.

Don't be surprised that when Lopez comes back, you will see him at 2nd base! Canes have quite a few options. They will be solid!
