They still don't get paid enough right?

$550 worth once a yr? Yeah i'd say they don't

plus tuition books room and board(their education the thing they are supposed to be there for being they are student athletes) if they work hard they have opportunity to play in the NFL. if they didn't play college football they wouldn't have ever been afforded that opportunity at all.

I think they should get some sort of apprentice stipend for playing for the school but when you total up the amount of money in substance they are receiving it is quite a nice pay day. any way you look at it 4 years tuition alone is expensive then add in the food housing and books and that payout at Miami is up there. This dilemma to pay student athletes is a screwy situation because the "other" schools will just find more way to make sure their guys get more money and you have the same **** all over.

As you can see below its a pretty good pay day they are getting for playing football and the possible opportunity to play in the NFL or have a **** good degree if they weren't good enough to make it to/in the league. Below are the minimums LOL 20 meal plan some of our guys would eat more then that in 3 days.

Lulz. They get a free education while their schools and the NCAA and TV networks and clothing companies make millions upon millions.

Makes complete sense.

But if they take a free soda from a booster they're ineligible.

LMGDAO. Burn the whole thing down.

I agree with you.

More to the point; they get an opportunity for that education. I'd bet most of our players didn't come here for an education. Guys who struggle to get past admissions do so to play ball. They aren't suddenly interested in a quality education. So, I don't know how much value there is for them in bypassing the high cost of attending UM. If there was another viable path to get to the NFL, a lot of college football players would be taking it.

And, yeah, I know there are certainly players who appreciate the opportunity and get value out of it.

There will be eventually. Within 10-15 years there will be some sort of NFL developmental league. The players won't get paid much, but they would be free to sign endorsements and such.
