BC football to host Miami in 2012 opener
February 9, 2012

Boston College will open its 2012 football season at home against Miami on Labor Day weekend, according to sources at Boston College.

The likely dates are Sunday or Monday, although the entire weekend remains in play.

The Eagles will likely play at home against Maine the next weekend.

BC will have only six home games next season because a game against Army was moved to to West Point.

The Cadets will play at BC in 2013.

Not terrible for us. Would rather start with a softy, but it's better than having to play at BC in the cold sometime at the end of the season. As usual, gotta get the W.

That BC loss to end the season must still be fresh in our players minds. I'm sure that we will be absolutely jacked for this game.

You know coach Golden is gonna use that every chance he gets from now until game time.

i hate labor day openers, especially on the road. Can't someone else play this game? We've done if what? 4 times in 7 years? Next year, the MD game this year, at least 1 if not 2 FSU Games in the last decade. There are 12 teams in this conference.

None of the other 11 put eyes on the screen the way UM does, the Canes have something like 3 of the top 5 viewed games ever on ESPN

A Sunday or Monday game makes it a short week as UM plays the following Saturday.

Against K-State I believe. Gonna be tough playing them on a short week, but we can get 2 revenge games outta the way early. If we can get 2 quick wins it'd be huge for the kids' mindset going into the rest of the season.

This is a good opponent for us to began with. We are going to have some new starters but still should be able to pull out a win. I look forward to seeing how Stephen Morris plays in this game.

Does anyone else think that the seniors had checked out that game? IMO, they quit once the bowl was taken away from them

No, they just sucked. Par the course for the past 4 years.
