Is D'onfrio hyper-conservative, unsophisticated or just the poorest DC in designing and implementing blitzes?

In my opinion we don't blitz for three reasons:
#1 We rarely ever try to disguise our blitz so there is never the element of surprise
#2 Our players blitz from farther away therefore it takes longer for the blitz to get to the QB and is easier to be picked up. What makes me want to bash my head in is if we aren't even gonna disguise our blitz then why not bring up the blitzer up closer to the line of scrimmage?
#3 Since our design and scheme of the blitz for reasons #1 & #2 is so poor, our few blitzes are ineffective and lead to poor results so we quickly go away from blitzing. Which compounds the fact that we have little to no talent on the Dline that can generate a pass rush and allows QB's all day to either find a missed assignment or exploit #30, 31 and 59 on our defense.

Lastly, if we are getting gashed on the run then why don't we call run blitzes? It is apparent that both Duke QB's are ****** passers and yet we allow them to not have to rely on their arms at all to win yesterday. This and the continual playing of #30, 31 and 59 are my biggest gripes with D'Onfrio and why I want that jackass canned.

I love blitzing but I feel like McCord and aqm who is skinny are only ones who van get to qb

The design is laughable. I used to think it was bc their blitzes were too complex for kids just learning the system. Reality is they are just really bad.

It goes against the Golden and No D scheme of preventing the big play, which blitzing leaves the defense vulnerable to. When the scheme fails or gets exposed they result to the same 3 blitzes they ran all year which every coach knows and came up with a plan to beat it, which is why they never work. Perfect example, is the sequences of the UNC, WF, FSU, and VT game. UNC dragged Ebron across the field every 3rd down knowing the Sam LB would blitz therefore leaving him uncovered across the field because for reason the mlb would blitz too and the corners would be 20 yards downfield. Every 3rd down it was either Ebron or a slot receiver catching a crossing route for no shorter than a 10 yard gain. So what happens WF OC sees it and says we are going to do that as well and was successful, then Jimbo watches the last 3 games and says they still running that blitz well we are going to run crossing routes on 3rd down as well and we all know how that turned out, No D even decided to play man to man on 3rd down well guess what your playing a mobile Qb with no pass rush so the world then finds out Jamies can scramble. FSU game the staff was just out coached. But anyway, so Beamer said they still running that same blitz on 3rd down we will run the crossing route and they too were successful, then there was Cutcliff who said f that I think we can run over them and so Duke did. Not even worrying having to pull out that play even though they did and picked up a couple 1st downs on 3rd down running those same crossing and drag routes. So to answer the question it's incompetent coaching and lack of innovation by No D for not recognizes this in the **** Press Box which is located over the field so he sees everything and Golden for not fixing it.

When it comes to run blitzing, when we run blitz the outside we get gashed up the middle. When we blitz the middle the running-back bounces it to the outside where there's nobody there but a corner and safety to make the tackle but their 20 yards downfield so the Rb has gained 10 yards before 1st contact. This can be blamed on running a 3-4 two gap scheme with 4-3 personnel. The players are at a disadvantage before they even get in their stands.

This is what I saw, just as you mentioned in reason #2. We blitzed from 7 yards off the ball.........AFTER the snap!!!! Ridiculous
