talent...

17,46,30,31,22,34,and whatever we have left at RB wouldnt make the team in Tallahassee

and we are relying on 3 (on O), 1(on D), 98, 17, 8, 3, and a bunch of other true freshman and sophomores to carry this team to a win against a 5 deep fully integrated program

GTFOOH, we needed to play perfect, to have a hope of getting into the fourth

See you at the NFL draft where we'll see 2-3 more canes go in rounds 3-5

There's work to be done from a personnel standpoint and its only beginning, stop wasting your time nitpicking coaching, therte's nothing we coulda done last night other than complete the bomb to Coley and not get stuffed on short yardage, or have a tight end that thought he was a juggler

I somewhat disagree and here's why....

1) One of the few times we showed something different pre-snap we created an INT but Winston. Why not have a game plan that is somewhat different than you put on tape all year? I mean why not take the chance to see if it would work? I know the coaches don't care about the spread but you were a 21 point dog, this basically says your regular approach will not work unless something like special team TD's happen. The prior week we gave up 300 yards passing to the Wake QB. How would you believe that same approach was going to stop the kid that is probably going to win the Heisman?

2) We went into this game with a clear approach of trying to play ball control and run the ball. What happens if we get behind? Exactly what happened in the 2nd half.

Now I'm not denying we lack talent in some spots but I really believe we should have came out with a more aggressive game plan when you really had nothing to lose.

Would rep twice.

Best post ever.

UM is 7-1 with guys playing on heart and little else. There is talent at some positions, as you correctly note, but not nearly enough. Its coming though!

Honestly, people bashing Coley for play calling when his QB can't hit a crossing route is laughable.

We have the right staff. And when we field a real UM front 7 and a UM qb who can hit a slant (instead of throwing behind Walford) UM will be back. Its coming!

Renfrow is a starting DT on this team. You know the guy from Virginia who just got to campus? Highsmith plays safety. Nowhere near having the roster needed to do big things right now.

Coaching and scheme is what's keeping us in ball games right now.

We may not be there talent wise, that being the case, we can't play a top team as if we're there. bring different looks, bring more pressure, break tendencies.

I agree on some of what has been said...but better QB play was and is the key. Morris can throw a few NFL balls a game...injury or not, he's extremely limited.

2010 and 2011 recruiting class were not UM caliber. Thats what makes up our upper class. Golden has also missed on some guys the last 2 years that would have sped up the rebuild process. I'm hopeful that the NCAA cloud had a lot to do with that.

Agree but I can definitely blame the coaches for safety recruiting. It has been three years and it shouldn't take much to find safeties better than #30.

A different scheme wouldn't turn Shayon, Gaines, Highsmith and a bunch of the others into all-Americans.

My biggest knock on the coaches is not the scheme they running but who they are playing. #30 should never see the field again. Why Figatron is not playing over #31 is really got me scratching my head.

Start the youth movement now. Figs should be starting. Bush and Jenkins should be starting. Artie and even Jamal should be getting burn.

Not saying it was Coley's fault for the loss, we didn't have the talent to win. But running straight ahead with Duke every one or two plays just doesn't cut it. As I said in another thread before the game, we had 50 yards running against Florida, anyone who thinks we are going to run the ball down FSU throat is nuts. No trick plays, nothing different, no pitches, just run Duke into a a good defense that our average offensive line can't block. We don't have Alabama's line, so you have to do different things, like last years offensive coach. Running Duke 30 times right before the FSU game was F stupid, period. Doing the same things over and over if it isn't working is just as stupid.

Would rep twice.

The team is 7-1 and the only loss is to an FSU team that is loaded with talent. Not sure what else you want them to do at the moment. The youngsters will grow up and there's a Miami caliber recruiting class on the way to back them up. This rebuild wasn't going to happen overnight.

But duke almost had a 100 yards so they success running ball. We just have a QB that couldn't hit the ocean if fell in.

The real problem is lack depth and talent on D, and lack of a cerebral QB.

All i want them to do is put #30 on the bench and pull #36 off the bench. Figs has mad skills. He passes my eyeball test every time i see him get into the game for a extended period of time. #30 must have dirty pictures of the coaches, don't understand how he gets on the field.

I hate losing to FSU but they have the goods right now. I want to see us rebound and beat the **** out of VATECH. How do you think the hokies feel after losing to Duke at home.
