10th grader is a DT/NT Westley Neil has thrown the shot about 45' first time at it. He is listed 6-1/300 already benches 350 and dead lifts almost 500 as a 10th grader. If he can sprout a little vertically is a local prospect worth following.

At the Miami Nike Feb. 18 2018 he was measured at 6 feet and 311 pounds. He had a 5.29-40 not bad for age and weight, a much better 4.85 short shuttle and a very good vertical jump of almost 27 inches at that build. Is explosive and will continue to develop in the testing events. The thing is how much more can he grow vertically?

He doesn't need to grow at all. DT/NTs can do fine at 6'0. 6'2 or 6'3 might be ideal, but I'd rather have them too short than too tall. The kid sounds explosive.

Why would he need to be any taller if he is already 300+? Height generally means larger frame to put on weight, but if the kid is strong as an ox and isn't a sloppy 300, he's good to go. It might actually be beneficial for him to be built like a fire hydrant since it will be harder for an OL to get leverage.

Blades actually beat Michael Nesmith of Hallandale in the 100, who has a PR of 10.7.

His track speed is better than I thought. I wonder if he could break into the 10s without facing wind.

Blades with a great showing on the track early in the season. With this kinda showing I expect him to break 11 in the 100. He definitely has some live legs with some explosiveness as evident by his triple jump performance. He's already broken 50 in the qtr so I know he can break 11 in the 100m. Blades getting to the point where his speed is legit and and asset to his skill set especially if he can put it all together,.

Was he singing "Last Train To Clarksville" when he did it?

This early in the year Blades has had a really good track season. All of his times/distances are personal records.
400m 49.53, High Jump 6-0", Triple jump 41-5, 100m 11.18 into wind
He is an all-round athlete

Without knowing weather conditions, those are all pretty average marks/times for a D1 skill position player. Not bad, just average.

His Opening marks combined with his track numbers paint a picture of a slightly above P5 DB athletically, but combine with his above average strength, he's probably above average as a prospect, athletically.

Really surprised we didn't put a bigger press on Nadab Joseph, who is a freak.
