All the pics & vids have shown the team in those ugly orange clown shoes. If they were getting new black cleats the players would have started wearing them to "break them in". Anyone who has ever worn cleats knows it takes a week to get them broken in to avoid blisters. Also if Nike was providing new black cleats we would have heard about it. Especially on twitter there has been nothing.

Im not happy about this. I would be fine with all white cleats or even a black & white combo. But instead its the same ole same ole ugly orange cleats that make us look like clown shoes.

I know u all will bash me but i had to vent. These players deserve at least some new fresh gear as a reward for their hard work.

Dude...new unis are coming next year. If they have black cleats, great...if not, who cares. I want two things out of a uniform: 1) to look somewhat cool so it helps recruiting, and 2) for the team to WIN in them.

I really hope coaches don't use the look and design of their uniforms as a recruiting pitch.

Im talkin bout the cleats not the unis. They couldve at least gave the players a fresh design

When we consistently start breaking our feet off in other team's asses - cleat color won't matter as they won't be seen - inserted with enough force.

So color doesn't matter - depth does.

Uniforms matter to some recruits. Some dudes go to Oregon and say a big selling point was the uniforms they've got--kids love that ****. It's not so much the coaches pushing it as the kids looking for it. It doesn't hurt to have good looking uniforms when you're recruiting a kid.

Practice cleats have always been white. So we have a slimmer of hope. I heard that they were going to black cleats and demanded them. So we will see come game time

I HATE those white cleats. They make us looks so weak.

A black cleat has never blocked better than a white cleat or vice versa. A black cleat has never tackled better than an orange, red, blue, gold or whatever color cleat and vice versa. If you know anything about football you would know that the game has always been and will always be about blocking and tackling. As Bum Phillips might have said, if your'n blocks and tackles better than their'n, your'n will win. All the other crap is just that. I guarantee you that once the band is playing the players don't care about the color of their shoes or the design of their uniforms, only the fans do. But only the fans who aren't really focused on football.

Instead of talking about the color of the god **** shoes, let's talk about whether or not Vaughn Telemaque for example is making every tackle when he is on the ball. Let's tak about whether or not Bunche et al are keeping the pass rush away from whoever is at QB.

I want those helmets Oregon wore in the rose bowl! Imagine those with a U on them!

I think its safe to say that Telemaque and Bunche aren't doing too much of either right now. So BSing about uniforms and kicks a week before the first snap is permissible. Don't take it so serious bro.

Knox, the point wasn't specifically about Telemaque or Bunche or any other player for that matter it was about talking football and not being obsessed with shoes and uniforms like so many seem to be. The folks who incessantly post about those things seem to be the ones who take it too seriously. I have frequented a number of boards for many years and based on what I see, there are an awful lot of people who are fixated on black cleats 365 days a year. So it doesn't seem to make a difference whether any actual games are being played or not.
