Based on the ridiculous spread. When we win on Saturday would this be the biggest upset in series history?

I think at the moment yea but it slso depends on how the rest of the season plays out between both teams. My thing is can either team win 2 games in one season against one another? If they cant I want the ACC title game, but its hard for me to think we win both games let alone one. Hopefully this will be a great game not a blowout unless its in our favor.

Biggest upset, yes.

However, there have been other games where the point spread was more than 22 points off of the final score. Including the 2010 debacle.

has to be a record for No. 7 ranked team with a point spread of 22 points against them right? (not saying we deserve any credit based on how we played or anything like that just curious)

FSU in 88 was the number one darlings...even though we had just won the ship with what some still argue the best team by UM...it was stacked we lost like 17 players to the NFL yes 17...we dont have 7 on our team now...FSU made a rap video about being number one etc....we ******* smoked him...BAD REAL BAD

Oh you will also read that this gamed only happened so early due to again UF bailing out last minute to play us...

It definitely would be the largest upset. Lots of games have fallen well off the spread. We tout the 1988 game but Florida State had a similar rout as a small underdog a few years earlier. The Canes were -3 all week in Jimmy Johnson's first year of 1984. That line dipped to -2.5 just before kickoff and the move was just slightly correct. Florida State won 38-3.

I'm not sure what the line was in '76. That's before my records begin. I attended the game and expected Miami to prevail, but by nothing like the 47-0 final.

I've got a number for a gambler's anonymous hotline you can call:eekeyes: J/K

There have been games where one team has been heavily favored, or at least expected to win or win easily and the game hasn't gone that way. The 1986 game comes to mind. While Miami ended up winning by 18, FSU was ahead going into the 4th. Miami was #1 and FSU was like 6-4-1 on the year that year and we were supposed to kill them. We ended up covering, but they had us on the ropes for 3 quarters. I think a lot of people expected Miami to win going away in 2010 and FSU curb stomped us. Most "experts" expected an FSU blowout in 2003, especially after Gore, Sikes and Beard all went down, and we blew them out (final score was not a good indication of the game).

The 2002 game sticks out to me as a game I thought we would actually clobber FSU, maybe by a couple of touchdowns. Then we need Willis to be Willis late in the fourth and for FSU kickers to be FSU kickers to win. Unreal how that game went.

We were number 4 going into OB against Cornhuskers in 1st NC game and I think spread was 17.
