Jeremiah Smith might go down on this long list.

I feel like if we had taken care of business against Ga Tech and UNC we would’ve flipped him with all the the momentum we had going. Despite getting Trader, Carr and Robinson we likely just lost our chances with a generational WR talent…

Disagree

There are always going to be misses and local players we all want Miami to get

The biggest misses are the ones who do choose Miami but then nevere develop into what they were supposed to be. That list is more important
That list is even longer than the ones who don’t come…

Started in the mid 2000s and hasn’t slowed down since!

Ryan Moore
Kyle Wright
Willie Williams
Lance Leggett
James Bryant
DajLeon Farr (filler for missing on Martellus Bennett)
That whole 08 class smh… (Patrick Peterson screwed us. Randy Shannon f***** over Arthur Brown and his brother Bryce never came)
Lorenzo Lingard

Jeremiah Smith will be the modern version of Patrick Peterson IMO

How is he generational? Go look back at 5 star WRs, not all pan out

Remember Lamont Green for context? 5 star LB from Miami, went to FSU and was never that good

It happens
I remember Lamont Green very well might be the most hyped player to ever come out of Dade aside from WW. Star system wasn’t around for recruits back then but I get your point he was supposed to be all world and won every player of the year award a defensive recruit could get…

Hindsight is 20/20.
We don’t know if J Smith will be a hall of famer or a bust.
That’s just a fact. Plenty of dudes have been said to be “generational” and end up doing nada.

Remember Hazzelnuts?

Imo the biggest miss was Amari Cooper and Patrick Peterson.

Those 2 players let everyone know that it was ok to leave and succeed somewhere else.
It was also at a time when we needed players like that the most.
It also established a sofla pipeline to those schools at the time when we were sliding.
Maybe we wouldn’t have slid that far down and continued the nfl pipeline from Miami.

Look up the Amari Cooper thread and see the thread being bumped every time he had a great game.

Would’ve been a game changer here too.
