Is are we gonna be a tough team? We have been soft and finesse the last decade. Are these players coming to knock teeth out? I ******* hope so!

If they don't show it against UL, then I give up, I mean you can't be more embarrassed the way they loss the bowl game.

for me a huge question mark not being talked about too much is our OL. duke is an absolute game changer, but even he can only do so much if our OL doesnt get the job done. and the last thing we want for kaaya is to be under tons of pressure in his first ever start. we know flowers is a total stud and the left side should be solid, but we really need isidora, gabdois, both mcdermotts, and whoever else gets major PT on our OL to step up. especially since last year it seemed, although pass protection was solid, we struggled to consistently run the ball, moreso against the better teams. tough to say its our "biggest" ? since obviously QB and defensive improvement are absolutely paramount, but i think OL is right up there. they need to ball out

I wanna know are we gonna do it all season long as a team...or as a collection of individuals showing flashes of greatness

Comes down to toughness IMO. We had and have a solid O-line. Are they gonna play more physical? We shall see..

Coley will have to do a good job of mixing up his play calls so we aren't predictable. Can't run every 1st and 2nd down and gotta avoid obvious passing situations.

Gonna have to help Kayaa out with his play calls.

My questions are not exactly that, but pretty close. How mentally tough are we? How aggressive and confident in ourselves are we, really? Bull**** "swag" aside.

I still can't forget our offense psyched out when UL's D didn't set. It happened play after play and we never just lined up, ran a "******' level somebody" play, and lined up again, looking over the bodies on the ground.

All that comes from knowing exactly what you are doing. That has not been the case so far. Constantly confused and out of sorts

We will not be a tough team as long as Al is the coach. Teams develop the identity of their coach. We can win, but it will be by finesse. Unfortunately Al is very soft.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Playing Miami football was about playing with an attitude and a chip on your shoulder. This team definitely has taken on the characteristic of its HC and is full of a bunch of nice guys just like Al. Every successful coach at Miami had some form of attitude in their personality. I just don't see that from Al.

Not so sure Erickson was a badass or tough guy and he won 2 titles. I don't think Al is soft, I just think he has been over stressed the last 3 years. I don't think he really knew how bad of a spot we were in when he took the job and also how hard it would be to get the Miami kids and coaches to rally around the program again. He has done above and beyond off the field. Now that most of that if not all is gone I think we see a big jump this year.

Erickson was a players coach and let the players run the program. His attitude was more of not giving a **** just play ball.

Al on the other hand has full control of this team and is starting to make it into his image. That image comes from the Joe PA model by fostering an environment of excellent role models and student athletes. That is great attitude for society but doesn't make for the best football players.

Yeah, it didn't work for Joe Gibbs!

Agree not the only question to be answered are we going to play that soft scheme or more attacking style
