Because of the increase of speed for our starters at the skill positions, I expect there to be more splash plays. JoJo/Carr/?? are faster than last year's starters and if Lyle gets starting snaps, he is able to house it at any time. Don't know TE will have that like we did with Arroyo, but hey, I'll take the increase in speed at RB and WR rooms.

I like the optimism.

As for TE I expect Lofton to get big plays there. And at RB/FB /HB wherever he plays.
Yeah, you're right about Lofton. Hoping Dawson really uses Lofton like UGA used Bowers.

Who led the nation in yards per play?
In the regular season or the playoffs?

If Dawson’s offense has another big year with a different QB and new WR’s, he will have his pick of head coaching jobs.
Agreed! If our O performs this year like I think it will, there will be some big coaching positions that become available.

Not so sure about this. Beck won’t float around the pocket like Cam waiting for guys to break open.

Why not? It’s not like Cam was dodging dudes. He was literally standing flat-footed multiple times this season. MF literally moonwalked in the bowl game. The protection has been generally unreal both of the last 2 seasons. I have no reason to think that’ll change.

Little different when QB is stationary in the pocket and defense rushes to a spot. Hope you’re right, but we shall see.

Beck isn’t stationary. He’s a pretty good athlete. Definitely not a runner but he’s not TVD. He can move. Again, Cam stood right in the middle of the paint **** near all year and ate defenses alive. Of course he made off-platform plays too, but he wasn’t running around like Michael Vick out there. The OL protected their asses off. I see no reason why that changes.

Also, FWIW, here is where Miami ranked in “big plays” this season:

20+ yard plays: #1
30+ yard plays: #6
40+ yard plays: #7

If we’re better than that in 2025, Dawson will have his pick of any job he wants.
people think long plays have to be 80 yard touchdowns

we would be lucky to be close to what we were this year

The big plays that were missing were long, explosive runs. Fletcher and Martinez did a great job I thought, but neither was a threat to take one to the house at any time. Hopefully Lyle and Pringle can provide that.

Lyle hit a couple last year, so his future looks bright.

I do think the passing game will be a little more “by the book” with Beck than it was with Cam. Beck wants to be aggressive vertically but Cam was almost too hellbent on the downfield throw, sometimes rolling out and floating backwards to buy time for the big throw while ignoring the wide open underneath receiver. It paid off often but he was also a magician at avoiding the rush. Beck can run and has decent athleticism but he’s not what Cam is. I doubt I’ll be screaming GET RID OF THE **** BALL!!! Nearly as much in 2025. Maybe a little more “take what they give you” instead of “just hold out for another two seconds for this incredibly long developing route to break open”.

This definitely seems reasonable to me.
