Has Tyriq made 1 big play in every single game this season? Kid has Olivier Vernon-type getoff, except with a motor and a brain.

How big of a shame is it that we have two pretty solid run-defense DEs in Chickillo/Shayon who really struggle with pash rush, and then 2 lazer beam pass rushers in AMQ and McCord who are still built like big wide receivers..... there's no middle ground, we're all in on run/pass with those two groupings, and that hurts us. Ready for those guys to get some weight on em so they can hold up on earlier downs.

We need to find some way to get him in on more plays. I would like to see him develop an inside move. Right now, he goes around guys which is great and can work but he needs to build that inside move into his skill set. A couple of his sacks were actually due to coverage as much as it was his pass rush.

I would also like to see him (and AQM) coached up to drop back in zone coverage like a typical DE in 3-4 scheme. He has the speed and range for it and would be a nice wrinkle to throw at a QB.
 
Next year is his year. He should have redshirted last year but he's developing nicely. Would like to see him 250+.

Tyric McCord is a true sophomore. He's 25 pounds away from being an every down D end. I think by next year he'll be that guy.
 
AQM will be that guy when he puts on some pounds, remember he's still a frosh

I'm alright with it. Keeps em fresh. With the amount of plays UNC ran yesterday, our guys would have been dead had we not kept rotating.
 
The way he dips that shoulder and explodes past the tackle is a thing of beauty, I dare say he reminds me of Charles Haley on that move with his balance and explosion......

Hopefully McCord and AQM can continue to develop and take over Green's role next year. Have one of those guys out there every down and both on 3rd downs.

Vernon's fast twitch was ++. He just didn't care to use it much while he was here.

Agree. When Vernon was dialed in, he was real good off the edge. Great burst and exceptionallly strong. There's a reason why he's in the pros.

Vernon had 8 career sacks and 4 of them were against FAMU. Very overrated as far as production is concerned.

Guys, I'm talking 100% about his quick twitch getoff, not about his production or career.

So on 1st and 2nd down we are just saying we wont rush the passer???

Dude is on another level. Wasn't really seeing it last year, but he should have shirted to gain weight. He is a cold blooded killer.
