First, to all you hoping on the 'fire golden' bangwagon, please do the rest of us a favor and buy some BAMA gear and cheer for whoever you think is hot. The guy stuck with UM is a situation he had nothing to do with at a time when he was a very hot name. Golden has earned some trust. IMO, he still learning how to coach in a situation where a lot more is expected out of him than they did when he was at Temple. He seems like too much of a workaholic to not learn how to adjust to coaching at a ' big boy' school.
Secondly, D'Onofrio isn't going anywhere (at least for next year). The guy is AGs best friend and has been by his side for most of his coaching career. AG will buy MD some time and blame the D's short coming on seniors who are JAGs and underclassmen who aren't ready. This buys MD one more year!
Third, out of the defensive coaches, Barrow and Williams are also safe. Barrow has too many ties to the community and is our lead recruiter on many SFLA recruits. Hes too valuable as a recruiter to let go. Williams is the only defensive who looks like hes actually developing talent. Our corners are actually getting better under him and Bush, Jenkins, and even Rodgers have actually become better players with his coaching.
This leaves Jethro. A name that has been mentioned tons of times on this site and a guy who isnt known for his ability to develop talent or recruit.
The best case scenario would be a coaching candidate who has experience as a 3-4 DC and coaches DL. Enter, Mike London. If UVA gives him the axe, I hope AG treats him like this years Coley and throws everything at him. In a realistic situation, London is made the Co-DC and teaches MD how to create pressure and not become so **** predictable. He would also whip our DL back in shape and develop the super talented players we have coming in. IMO, this is best case scenario. Golden isnt going to fire or even demote his guy. This would solve 'coaching' problems that we are currently dealing with.
