since many on here were going over how to properly word a banner thanking Al Golden for standing with the U, and now many of those same individuals are a loss away from funding a banner asking for his job….

We have the undisputed worst fan base in college football!

As fans we have 3 ways to contribute to our team and help its return to our rightful place atop college football :

1. Go to the games!!! I hope to see everyone here there saturday(doubtful)
2. Donate to the program
3. Support the program and don't support others badmouthing it(a negative fan base that doesn't support it's coach is the demise of a program). And if there's one coach that deserves our support, ITS GOLDEN!!!

Golden is now fighting with 2 hands and will bring in his first of many monster classes that will shape the future of the U.

So just like i stated 3 weeks ago and will continue to say over the next couple years(cause we are still a couple years away), I STAND WITH GOLDEN!

I'm told 52,000 orange seats plan to hold a protest by remaining silent and empty at the Canes game Saturday.
 
I'm sick of the fan base comments too. First, yeah our fans suck, but we have a much smaller fan base than most SEC or big state schools, and when things aren't going well there, they have their issues filling up their stadiums too. We just look worse because we have a smaller fan base to begin with. Less students, less alumni, less in state, in area alum and fans.

Also, think the pressure on the coaches and players is high here? Think local talk radio is bad here? Ha! It's a freaking joke here compared to SEC country. If Golden thinks this is rough, let him be the coach at Auburn during a 6-6 season. Let him be the coach at Alabama during a 7-5 season. Jacory Harris and Stephen Morris think the boos are bad here, let them be the QB at Florida or Alabama or Tennessee. Geez, our coaches and players have it easy compared to SEC schools.
 
I'm still grateful to Coach Golden for sticking with us and still support him and the team, with attendance, donations, etc.

But, I recognize, like I'm sure that he does, that there's work that needs to be done and done quickly and well--and that Miami Football can't be doing what it did and looking like it did last Saturday at Duke ever again.

i think a lot of people are calling for his job because he has supported the one guy that everyone in this fan base hates, plus its just natural that fans that are ****ed off at a team to go after the head coach, im a golden supporter, but i have to say if he continues to believe that this guy can work then he has to go for the university and for him, but i do agree with your post 100%

Anyone with a pulse can tell this fan base sucks. Just check out the stands. But this must be the 10,000th time it's had to be mentioned on the boards. Its just tiresome.

its reiterated on here because 90% of the posts on here are made by those same fans
 
Been a season ticket holder and donate to the program for many, many years. I will not be there this weekend, but it is a health reason.

I supported Clappy, Shannon, and Golden. Doesn't = must have blinders on. If Golden doesn't ditch Dorito, that would shake my support of his regime bigtime, but how that ties into tickets and seats has always lost me.

I wish more people would goto the game, support the team with attendance; however, I don't question their fanhood or mitigate their right to an opinion on this basis.

I know plenty of people that sit in my section and hate everything about Golden. I know plenty of folks that don't goto the games or have tickets that will ride Golden's ship, even if it goes Titanic style.

the 90% of folks that don't like Golden doesn't make bad fans in my opinion.

Just my 2 cents.

I haven't given up on golden his recruiting and image we have us all great and upward swing
And he's made great offensive coordinator hires

Just needs to fire Dorito and bring in a hot shot to run his defense
 
I dont know how many who post on boards are represenattive of the fan base in general. Obviously it would be the most passionate and vocal of the group but not necessarily the best informed.

There are any number of reasons to support Golden including what he did for three years in rough times, the recruiting he has done, don't want to scare off future recruits and frankly to just be a little patient (the team is 7-3 after all and just a few weeks ago beat a UF team that was, at the time, highly regarded). I suspect that Golden doesnt like sitting at that podium knowing that the Defense sucks and having to taste the loss. I am sure he wants to win more than any of us and he is living it every day.

In the end, if D'nofrio has lost the D he will let him go.

I dont get getting all ****y about losing to Duke like that is an insult. I get that it hurts. I get that for years, or forever, that Duke has been an easy mark but that doesnt make it impossible for them to win. The program is improving and they have some pride and support that seems to be carrying them a long way something that our kids could use. I suspect the Duke nation wasnt thrilled when our bball team pounded their head in and slapped the court last winter...you could almost hear them say "we cant lose to the U in basketball!"

Last but not lest every time I see one of these kids interviewed I realize they are just kids. These arent seasoned professionals who can handle being booed by their own crowd and understand that.

These boys, and coaches, need our support.

I used to also, but I have to say man, we've really earned it the last two weeks. Im as disgusted as anyone, but weve had people on these boards right after the VT game urging our commits to go to other schools. Same guys who 2 weeks before were singing the praises of this staff. I agree we have some major issues, and major changes are needed, but some of the over the top vitriol and hysteria has really been embarassing. I still cannot fathom how any fan of our program would be urging our recruits to go to other schools.

The majority of people spitting venom about Golden and DOnut are probably doing so because they know the beast of a program under Golden we would have if the D was halfway decent.

They probably support Golden 100% but feel helpless about the future watching us with the worst statistical defense in the ACC.

They are ****ed because Golden is doing an unreal job in every other aspect of this team except for the defense. They had a chance to reach the # 1 team goal this year not once but twice and the defense let them down in horrific fashion.

He is an elite recruiter which as JJ always said is the most important thing in this business but if he doesn't fix his giant problem this awesome start at Miami is going to come to a tragic end
 
Golden must go.

If you're happy with 9 wins season, go ahead and "Stand with Him".

He's shown his true colors the last 2 weeks. The guy just isn't a very good coach.
 
tired of the same **** w the fans. look any fan base would be ****ed if their team had done what our team did the last 3 weeks (really 2 bc i can't blame anyone for FSU. they're just better than us). just bc someone is criticizing golden and his coaching staff (they deserve criticism) doesn't make em bad fans. u don't have to be a rah rah homer to be a good fan. ur allowed to have an opinion and still be a fan.
 
btw we've just went through the worst defensive 3 week stretch in the HISTORY OF MIAMI FOOTBALL. yes, the fan base has a legit reason to question the staff. sorry we odnt like watching our team get crushed by inferior teams week in and week out (its been happening since last season and nothing improved). the past 3 weeks will turn every fan base against the coach. i don't think ppl really want golden gone, but they do want his BFF gone. thats my problem w golden at least. i love him as our HC but i need him to fire his dip**** friend and dump the scheme to something that the suits the players talents. no point in shoving down a scheme that the players obviously can't run (Been 2 years of the worst D in miami history).
