BC is in an Ace 3 wide set
Looks like All Streaks.

We're in Nickel Cover 2 man
Jimmy Gaines has TE and on this PA has his eyes in the backfield and allows the TE down the seam to get behind him.
But what is Telemaque doing on this play? He's right over the top & it doesn't appear that Rettig looked him off to the sideline... so how does he let the TE get behind him?

I think Telemaque got threatened by the outside receiver. In any event, this was his one big mistake of the game. Gaines also--he actually did decently well minus this. Armbrister, Johnson, and Buchanon all put on the clown shoes whenever there was any kind of fake.

A lot of your threads... couldn't they all be in one thread since their on the same subject?

I didn't see a Telemaque thread so I figured I'd spread the love. Can't just talk about D'Onofrio, Armbrister, Buchanaon and Eddie Johnson all day and not give a shout out to CaliSkate

It is a well designed play. 2 te set and 3 vertical routes against cover 2. Te from the weak side splits the safties after the play action. Vt has the z running a seam which is his responsibility. I assume Rodgers has a vertical on his side or a dig to occupy him. Good call by BC. Guess what....that happens.

Vt cannot be right in this scenario. Qbs read is vt. If he stays on z throw to y. If vt is occupied by the y throw to z. The lb has to take the seam route. Even then it might be a mismatch.

1 TE set, 3 WR
