Basketball helps Football recruiting....

I see this all the time when dealing with the girls that are recruited from my club volleyball teams. Kids always want to go where there is a good football program, but realistically...they are in season and really dont get to enjoy the games as a student. But if the hoops team is good...it gives the players a chance to be a student and see that side of student life and it's the same for the football players.

Winning more than 6 or 7 football games a year helps football as well

Yes and no. Helps to be armed to the teeth in money, infrastructure, and administration support at every level for top notch programs. Location and brand are important factors to.
