Did I miss something? He usually has some good info in the Wed and Sunday Sports Buzz but haven't seen an article lately.

I think he's on vacation. Grimm had a good article on Shapiro today. I'm on my phone or I'd link it.

I wonder if Shapiro understands that the 47 former players who would have been compelled to testify against him really had no choice in the matter.

"Shapiro still cranks out the motivational nuggets that stir an NCAA investigator’s heart. Last month, he e-mailed the Herald’s Barry Jackson promising that, even from prison, he would find a way to wreak even more vengeance on his alma mater. “It’s going to be severe and catastrophic. My feelings are getting inflamed and I’m going to pop off pretty soon with regards to them and the NCAA. I’m coming for them both [UM and former players] and I’m going to be successful,” the prisoner promised Jackson. “I’m taking that program down to Chinatown . . . Why? Because the U.S. government lined up 47 former players to testify against me in open court if I went to trial. That in itself is motivation to shove it up their collective [butts].”

This guy isn't gonna stop. I bet you within days of this case being over and sanctions handed down, Shapiro will drop some new "bombs." Luckily, he's so toxic to the NCAA at this point it'll fall on deaf ears.

This is one of the oddest of sports stories,Jackson disappears for long periods of time, well beyond
most people's normal vacation.Yet,I've heard nothing about reoccuring illness which could be an
explanation. The draft in the NFl,the Heat run,Panthers playing and start of BB pre season should
provide daily columns but no Barry!

Yep, I'm thinking the same thing.
This rat is Satan reincarnated.

You gotta believe he provided the best he could already. Every time he pops off now, he just makes himself (and, indirectly, the NCAA) look more desperate and unbelievable. There's nothing that dude can do at this point to further hurt us. I think he can only help.

It's been awhile and there has been so many articles about the scum rat, but I recall reading one particular article (probably by Barry Jackson) where
the few former players who talked to the NCAA spoke about getting asked questions with regards to stuff they thought was out of the blue, if
not out of their scope.
Stuff about the baseball program and even women's hoops.
We know, for example, that some of our former baseball players have been linked to PEDs and that clinic near
the campus. I would think someone like that rat would attempt to connect the dots, even if he's full of BS.
This guy is just a bad person.

The article refers to UM as Shaprio's alma mater, but I'm pretty sure he never went to school at UM. I suppose newspapers can't afford to proof read articles anymore.

“Throughout the course of our interactions, it is my belief that Mr. Shapiro possesses a unique depth of knowledge and experience concerning representatives athletics interest (’boosters’), agents and the provision of extra-benefits to student-athletes.”

mr. shapiro: "Everything I was doing, I couldn't come close to what the $ec was dolling out."

Is there an investigation of the $ec???

The fact that the NCAA takes everything he says at face value regardless of the fact that he's mentioned numerous times his goal to destroy the program/university is absolutely ridiculous.

The main has stated many times he has a vendetta and won't stop until he's taken the whole **** university down. You have to believe he's willing to lie, not that he hasn't already lied. This whole investigation is ****ed.

So true....and I have to wonder how much money this has cost the university.
Thanks to the shenanigans of the folks in Indianapolis, this investigation has been prolonged to an obscene length of
time.
This means more money spent on our lawyers and advisors.
I have to think this adversely affects the University.
That is money that could've been spent on athletics.
