swear if this works out, Frenk will go down as the GOAT.
Disagree. He's overseen this downfall for 6+ years and the hiring of Manny Diaz was under his watch. He didn't take any action until Herbstreit called Miami's leadership out on national TV. Herbstreit and the proactive actions by the new BOT power brokers are primarily responsible for this dramatic change. He deserves some credit for making changes, but GOAT status no way.

His actions are like a reliever in baseball who blows the save but gets the win

the thing is, no one is going to remember any of that if the Canes return to championship contenders. he's already going to get credited with turning Uhealth around.

the biggest takeaway was that despite all the buzz, NO booster money was needed to payout Diaz and hire Cristobal and co.
UM as i always suspected has plenty of money with retained earnings likely north of 300 million.

And then corrected it. Who cares how that came about, he changed it in a way that Miami has never seen before. That's exactly how almost everything in life works.

I've always been fascinated by people who constantly put great decisions in context with failures. Nothing is good if anything bad came before it. It's such a miserable and unrealistic way to look at the world.

Please stop. And Joe Echevarria turned UHealth around.

When people were jizzing in their shorts about the IPF getting built, I was still reminding them that Beta Blake was a terrible AD. The truth eventually comes out.

This is a great day for Frenk, but he's had years of bad days prior to this.

Technically, there is no such thing as "retained earnings" for a non-profit, but, yes, UM is sitting on a large pile of cash. As I have said FOR YEARS.

I am begging you, please leave this assessment to UM alums. There are a LOT of other issues at UM besides Athletics.

As far as I’m concerned he just bought himself some time, that’s all, but there are other issues that need to be addressed. In an aggressive manner as possible manner. You get evaluated on many factors, not just one.

Agreed. I'll believe Frenk is getting a new 5-year contract...when I have the chance to rub the ink on his signature to make sure it's real...

The #1 takeaway (if true...it is BJ after all) is that so far UM has been able to finance everything they've committed to (Mario, staff, etc.) by way of adjusting the overall budget. This has been done with the belief that investing more of the school's budget in football will lead to a return and growth.

Gee, it's almost as if Julio started scrolling through the pages of CIS and had an epiphany. lol.

So IF that is all true...it means UM has PLENTY of dry powder in terms of being able to leverage donors, such as the Ruiz family. Wow. I am 2 years married and just welcomed a baby girl 4 months ago, and I am ready to quit my job and fly down from NY to work as an unpaid analyst.

Joe E is one of the smartest human beings I’ve ever met . I was at Deloitte when he was there and he always stuck out from crowd . The U is in good hands as long as he’s around and involved. He’s a fixer of broken processes.
