I can vouch for Malachi Toney. He is the truth. Switched positions and led American Heritage to a state championship as a QB. His dad was an urban legend out of the Bunche Park/Little River area for beating Devin Hester in a 40 yard dash at Gwen Cherry park. Allegedly ran a 4.1 in the 40 back in the day. Malachi has a great mom and family. Very like able kid. I am pulling for Toney because I think he and the other freshman WRs are ready to contribute immediately this upcoming season

Who did his dad beat in the 40?

De la Antonio Brown allegedly beat Devin Hester in a 40 yard dash and some local greats were there to witness it at Gwen Cherry park. Everyone from the Little River/Bunche Park/Central high school area knew that De la was fast. I recall he went on to play at West Virginia and the NFL.

I know Toney was not only an optimist league multi-position legend, but Toney was a very good basketball player as well. He played some basketball at American Heritage. I was happy that he reclassified and I think all three WRs have a chance to contribute this season

Joshua Moore is another one. Toney and Moore might make us feel a little better about those who graduated or transferred

I'll say this about Toney. I watched that playoff game vs. Orlando Jones looking forward to see Coleman at QB. And Toney was without question the best QB and best player on the field. So I have no doubt he is a baller that needs to see the field this year. Whether or not he wins the slot role over Ray Ray and Upshaw, or they rotate in multiple guys there, I have no idea. But I wouldn't in the least bit be surprised if he's our starter. Dude just has it.
