With Avantae Williams being cleared let's take a look at the injection of talent the DB room just received. I personally believe he will be 3rd S receiving decent snaps early on however I think his immediate impact will come as nickel CB due to his physicality and immense Man coverage upside. Also should be a main stay on ST coverage units with potential to factor in the return game. (please somebody just catch a punt)

Speed, toughness and smarts is what our secondary has been missing. He brings that along with James Wms, Kam kitchens, Bubba and Hall (potentially). Not a fan of Manny's scheme, but if these kids aren't asked to give up too much field space and the DL can pressure we'll see our safeties and Avante make plays. Forgot to mention Jalen Harrell and Keshawn Washington, but they maybe odd men out.

Great breakdown!

Would love to see him make bigger plays in the turnover game because being an elite athlete he will be in position alot to make those plays in the back end.. (saw he missed a few chances at interceptions on the clips). The fact that he already has the mindset to tackle will get him on the field quickly. We all know Manny doesnt want anyone on the field in the secondary who isnt willing to tackle.

HOT TAKE: He will be #3 in the safety rotation (barring any setbacks injury wise) by midseason. His range and tackling ability will be hard to keep him on the bench. I think he puts Carter on the bench.

He was beginning to make plays on the ball more his senior year however it got cut short due to injury. I would hope T rob and Reed can help him with diagnosing back at S would help in regards to more INT’s. A few times he gets to the ball on talent alone a quicker read on that he will be in a better position to capitalize!

I just went and watched more film. To me, this looks like the best safety prospect we’ve had since Kenny Phillips.

OP called him an Eraser several times. I am in total agreement. He just has a knack for getting people down, even if he is a bit undersized. Obviously a huge plus in this defense.

Combine that with range we haven’t seen here in a while, closing speed, good ball skills... man, this kid excites me.

Umm how can you forget the targeting GOAT Mr. Carter? He’s the one that makes the unit elite.
