Autoplay videos

I hate to complain, I love this website and have been an avid lurker and occasional porster for years. But lately, every time I visit the site on my iPhone with safari, the podcast video autoplays with volume automatically turned on with the hurricane siren blaring. And then if I have a canesinsight tab open and open safari later, the video will autoplay, I have to go find the tab, click on it, and pause the video. It’s getting frustrating.

Is this happening with anyone else or is it just me? Mods, maybe this is a setting that could be changed. Thanks for all you do and I hate to be that guy.

A week ago I started a thread with the dialogue that autoplayed every time I opened a thread.

Mofos thought I was crazy. I was just mocking the 10 seconds of stuff that was burned into my head before I could double back and hit pause.

Annoying. Oh yeah. Small price to pay for a great site? Oh yeah

Now since some of us allocate money to CANES CONNECTION, I'd love to hear how that could also give us some no ad viewing. I said I'd love to hear it, not going away from the site or cease allocating what little money I give to helping our student athletes. Just saying that'd be awesome to hear

At a minimum have volume auto mute if videos are gonna auto play. Doesn’t impact the video play count which is likely why it’s being done. Inflate numbers to advertisers

Autoplay is against Google policy and they might demonetize the site

It’s a pain in the **** especially when you click on CIS while at work and the volume on you computer is on due to the Zoom meeting!!!!

Just discourages visiting this site during office hours.

This is the only website on the internet that does this for me, and I know I’m not alone in this annoyance. Could you please turn off the auto volume? It plays even if I’m not on the tab and I have to track it down in my tabs to turn it off.

I have seen multiple requests/complaints about this issue yet I have not seen a single reply about the issue. Says a lot!
