If there ever was a time for recruits and current players to come to UM and start to show a "US AGAINST THE WORLD ATTITUDE" just like the old days, it should be now.

Local and national media, fans, some high profile players, local coaching staffs, etc...all turning their backs. ****, as a fan, I feel like kicking someone's *** right now. As a player, if this negativity by everyone doesn't light a fire under your ***, I'm not sure what will. Hit, stick and bust D*ck.

If I was a current player, I'd be motivated to prove people wrong! I would play every practice, every play, every workout, every game with two imaginary middle fingers up in the air.

If I was a recruit, I would do the hard thing instead of the trendy thing, sign with UM and play with a chip on my shoulder all three years that I am here. THE HARD THING RIGHT NOW!

I'm leaving this here in case anyone needs reminder what this place was about. NO COACHES ON THIS VIDEO, IT WAS ABOUT PLAYERS!!!! Players who didn't give a **** what anyone said about them. I could have coached those teams to be bad mother ****ers, because the players believed it, not matter what other people thought, they used it for motivation.

Attitude? Boyscout attitude? The good ol days are long Gone. This administration won't allow any "attitude" in coral gables. Shalala will meet with those recruits ASAP to make sure their neutered.

BS, Shalala isn't any different than any of the past Presidents. She's not in the locker room and in the weight room.

it's football, it still comes down to players. We've only had one football coach in our history that proved they were worth a **** once they were out of Miami and that's Jimmy. Every other freaking one has proven to not be worth a ****. Coker and Erickson won championships here and no where else. So it aint about the coaches and it aint about the highest rated players. it's about the Attitude.

I call BS again. Coker, Erickson, Shannon never had that attitude. and two out of three won NC here. Butch might have and he didn't win ****. Schely and JJ did. So it's not the coaches.

You're right a team doesn't take on the personality of its coach. The thousands of times that's been said by talking heads has been a lie or exaggeration. Who came up with the crazy idea that the personality and tone of an organization is passed down from its leader.

You're right a team doesn't take on the personality of its coach. The thousands of times that's been said by talking heads has been a lie or exaggeration. Who came up with the crazy idea that the personality and tone of an organization is passed down from its leader.

How in the world did Coker win so many games, he wasn't a hooraaah guy? neither was Erickson. If Erickson and butch were such great LEADERS that their teams took on their personality, why didn't they win anywhere else they went? You have all different types of leadership styles. Not everyone can be Bill Parcells and Jimmy Johnson.

They might have not had that type of mentality but they let the players be aggressive. Golden doesn't want any of that he wants to thank players for losing a game and then give them a big hug.

See, I don't know that that's true. These players had plenty of chances to be aggressive, they just weren't aggressive players. Cornelius, Highsmith and Rodgers were probably the three least aggressive players in Miami football history. This post was not about defending Coker, it was more about getting recruits to realize that if they come and don't worry about what people are saying, they can change their attitudes. There were plenty of Miami teams built under that principle.
 
What about the other players? The whole scheme on defense is very passive. The bend don't break style of play will not allow the players to be aggressive they're just waiting for the other team to make a mistake instead of making it happen. The university and golden are trying to hard to change the image of Miami. The Louisville game is a prime example. They were playing free and aggressive like the old Miami and we were just standing around letting them punk us and F.A.G. was telling the players to settle down. Yeah those players you mentioned were some of the worst at Miami and new talent will make the defense better but not by much in dorito's defense.

Interesting film. Do we want a team that kicks ***, or do we want a team that is more profane than the opponent? Which attitude do we want?
 
Despit your best efforts, it's going to be tough to fire anyone up at this point in time. We have a coach that clearly doesn't want to be here and a recruiting class that seems to be falling apart.

Tough to find much to be positive about right now. Other than MAYBE quarterback, there is NOT one position that is going to be an upgrade over last year's team. In fact, we may be worse on the OL, DL (if that's possible) and LB.

A team can not become that unless they have dominated their opponents and gained that confidence. How can these current canes play with that same attitude and swagger if we can't stop anybody?

If al or the admin were to fire the Dcoach it would show that WE HAVE an attitude towards winning! No excuses! But we have trends!
 
Miami played with swagger because Jimmy Johnson incorporated that mentality into the program. Erickson allowed that style of play to continue but lost control of it. Attitude reflects leadership. As long as we continue to have a HC coach who is conservative, we will continue having a target on our backs rather the other way around.
 
I will take my lumps now! If within 2 yrs we have not won the ACC and our still giving up 500 yards a game I will take a 2 yr ban from this forum ( as long as I can still read the post) in return, I would hope all the people who say Doritos and Al are our leaders come forward when we are STILL at the bottom of the ACC and admit they were duped, lock stock and barrel! I hope I'm wrong btw
