.Co is a Miami company and a supporter of Miami startup web applications. It fits with the community and hardcore South Florida angle we started with and pushes along the "Company" side this site may or may not turn into in the future. That doesn't mean it won't be free for users, though.

Curious why this came out of nowhere. Shouldn't there have been some notice for you and all of us? That way people would know and plan for this.

I'm familiar with the company that markets the .co here in Miami, and the connection to this site....just busting balls.
