Has Artie been out there on our field goal defensive package since day one? Because he almost got a second one against UNC. Guy was lightening off the edge. Kind of like the guy I'd use on ps3 to come in cheap on a fg/ep block.

And Jamal....might be too late now, but we could've used some more safety depth at this point. Any way he sees more burn?

Safety is a tough position to learn.

Jenkins didn't come on 'til late last year. Maybe that'll be the case with Carter this year.

Kids a true Freshman, give him time to learn the position.

Burns is going to take someone's job before the end of the season, kid is too good to keep off the field.

Jamal has to be better then alonzo Highsmith...Man he is so slow and so unathletic..... I guess he;s in the right places though

Highsmith is a very, very smart player. But that's about all he brings to the table.

Wonder how he would've been at QB if he had stayed there.

Burns had some decent playing time against UNC. I remember him coming from the sideline and smacking a running back not far from the LOS in the middle of the field.

Burns has been on FG block in several games. Dont remember if he was on it from day 1

Carter may be forced into action pretty soon. I think after FSU would be the time for that

The thing I dont understand is why the coaches got AJ Highsmith playing the "free" safety role when he is terrible in coverage, no speed, no athleticism....

I'd rather have Deon Bush rotate behind Ray Jenkins, until he gets 100%, then have KC and AJ play underneath..... seems like that makes the most sense.

I hope Jamal Carter catches on sometime during this last 6 games of the season.

It looks like Wake likes to toss it around so it's good our back four will be tested again prior to Jamie.

Last week was the first pass threat we've seen. I want to see these guys out there next week covering the middle of the field and getting up on the los causing some disruption.

Burns saved the game for us 2 times the other day. On the field goal block and when lit up their quarterback when he ran up the middle and stopped him short of the first down right before unc had the delay of game penalty in the 4th

Artie should get some reps at safety until Bush gets healthy. He can play near the LOS and let RJ play high. In cover 2 he will cover much more ground than Highsmith. We have the athletes to play c2 man under if we go to a dime package and leave Perryman in as the only LB.

I will give you that but being a safety in college is a little more then in high school

In high school you can use your speed and blow people up...read and react type of things...

but Highsmith knows the playbook and he can make keys and checks from his position...Jamal is probably not ready for that just yet...
