Topic I think a few recognize but no one wants to discuss... Nesta's a solid prospect but far from the world beater folks here want to act like he is. He's not going to just come in and wreck ****, I don't think. I guess he's the only DT we got though, so...

we have to recruit more top quality dts man have too thats what u have to do to win big

It's an easy formula. People think that if Notron and McIntosh ride out that we're straight. We're not. A unit that consists only of Willis, Bethel, Ford, Martin (and potentially Silvera who hasn't even signed) is bad. One injury would fook us up for sure next year. Need a JUCO and another DT this cycle. Anything short of that is a failure.

We do. But we also have to recruit more DTs generally. That’s really unfortunate.

Fwiw, the vast majority of posters don’t think that imo. That said, yes, if we lose both, we’re in deep ****. We’d be depending on a head case who’s probably on thin ice, a rotational backup type, real raw unproven commodity, a JAG and a true freshman.

We do. But we also have to recruit more DTs generally. That’s really unfortunate.

you can’t have a good defense without good DTs. You can have good DEs but if you don’t have good DTs, then your defense isn’t good.

I know. I've had many arguments with [MENTION=1740]brock[/MENTION] that seemingly go in circles. If you could direct your same answer to him, it may go through. Usually the normal response is that this is a knock on Kool as a coach; which it isn't.

His frame is pretty much maxed out.

Why does it seem like the defense wins 95% of the time in these one on ones? In a regular game there wouldn't be a pocket once in those clips. In the reps where the defender doesn't blow past them they're driven back 10 yards

Looks like Xavier Thomas will be worth every penny Clemson spent on him. The guy looks like a future star already.

Nesta looks like a bull rush machine - he will need to add in some other moves but he shows nice fight and leverage. On his first rep, he used the exaggerated high rip i saw Kool teaching in one of the videos. Wonder if he picked that up at practice.
