Are we physical enough on defense?

I know Denzel can hit with the best of them but do we have anyone in the secondary that will take your head off. Bush was very physical last year but the injury has slowed him down in 2013.

McCord is a violent player but other than that I don't see any mean SOB's on the defense.

I think you have to be a physical tough team to beat the Noles.

Your thoughts?

I think we are getting there in terms of AQ "Miami guys". We have a few kids who have it like McCord.

I agree in the fact that you have to be physical against the Noles. Last year we hit them all night and it slowed them down. Hopefully we repeate that ferocity again.

For FSU?

Yes, Im confident that our D is physical enough to manhandle FSU. My only concern with out D is the coverage ability of our linebackers.

I remember Perryman knocking the crap out of fumbles O'Leary last year as he laid the ball down and Canes recovered.

EDIT:
My bad OP. Let me answer the question, are we physical enough to beat FSU. Yes. However, I don't think we can beat them without being more aggressive in how we play defense, without taking some chances, and without creating turnovers. I know we'll match FSU's intensity. My concern even more than our defense is whether Morris will play with confidence.

I'll leave the rest because it is apropos.

Physicality is partly about having the confidence and mentality to dominate the guy in front of you. I think the guys that we are bringing in have that, but I think you have to run a defense that emphasizes being aggressive. Unless it's an obvious passing situation, we tend to play a conservative defense - soft zone, a little press coverage here and there, etc.

Our D is absolutely physical enough. In fact, I think that it's the physicality of our defense that gives us a chance to beat FSU.

What have I seen to prove that? How about the way our defense was able to significantly slow down the rushing attacks of basically all of our opponents so far this year, other than GT. While GT ran for lots of yards early, it wasn't because they were more physical than us, as GT generally doesn't have a physical running game. Unlike in years past, we haven't been getting gashed in the run game because this year we are holding the point of attack. When our tacklers get there in the run game, they are the ones delivering the blow.

Miami/FSU is usually a very physical game. The past few years, we weren't prepared physically to stand up to them on the LOS. This year, I think we are more than prepared. If we aren't able to stop them, it won't be because we lack physicality, it will be because of our coverage of their skill guys by our back 7.

WHAT THE ****...are we playing the 49ers.....when is kick off...

its FSU...they are a college team we played toe toe with our ****** team last year...they did not all of a sudden draft NFL guys...they are solid we are solid..stop with the idiotic posts...

We are a heck of a lot better than last year, especially on D. FSU is marginally better than last year. Flamous is better than EJ. Morris was hurt for last year's game and he seems to still be suffering from his ankle now. I think we have better chance than we did last year. Our D is certainly bigger, stronger and meaner than last year. If we get helmets on Flamous, we will see if he is tough enough.
