Golden was being honest two weeks ago when he said 15 new kids in this class.

Golden meets with every kid on the team and tells them where they are in their development. This happened last week. I imagine he is very honest with the kids who have no business being here. There are quite a few.

You are going to see 5-7 kids leave the program. Looks like Corey White, Jermaine Johnson and Curtis Porter (going pro) are on their way. There are a ton of other candidates. Golden is purging the roster (in a professional way) of Shannon's recruits as he should.

Some of these kids had no business signing with Miami but are good kids and received a very nice free education.

At the end of the day, you will probably see 20-22 new kids.

I believe we will sign 15 for this year but have a number of early entrees that count towards last year.

There are only 11 seniors, 2 of whom may ask for medical RS. So even with 7 kids leaving, you don't get to more than15-17 ships. You can argue that there are 4-5 open spots right now. But these are going to go towards self-imposed limits to reduce future NCAA sanctions. Golden said as much.

Exactly, I don't get where people see us getting more than the 15/17 range. 17 is pushing it imo as well.

Early Entrees are going to be important to the volume of the class.

Please get your facts straight.

We are at 15 spots right now without any of the other kids I mentioned leaving.

Porter, White and Johnson reportedly leaving = 18 spots

There will be others.

A few facts:

-after all seniors graduate we will have 70 remaining players on scholarship;

-colleges are allowed a max of 85 total players on scholarship;

-colleges are allowed to sign a max 25 players per cycle;

- if a team wants to bring in more than 25 for the following season, they can only do so by having them enroll early and counting them against the previous cycle. This is when EEs become valuable/necessary;

- in 2011, we signed 20 players, but only 19 qualified (Antonio Kinard), allowing us to count 6 of our 32 2012 commits (we only signed 31, see below) as 2011 commits, thus maxing out both classes (2010 was also a full class, three in a row);

- the only non-qualifier out of the 2012 group was AJL, who will count against the 2013 total.

As the previous class was maxed out at 25 (Witt and Davis leaving after qualifying and entering school does not retroactively open up a spot against the previous 25, only against the 85 total), we cannot count anyone against the last cycle. However, EEs do not help us numbers-wise at all this year as we are not trying to exceed the limit of 25 schollies per cycle. Which is why the staff is not pushing for EEs, btw. We are however currently up against the 85 limit. Although I think we´d all be shocked if there were no further attrition.

The big question is not whether there will be room for more than 15 or not, but rather whether the staff wants to self impose scholly reductions and keep on grovelling on their knees in front of the NaziAA. I personally would say fvck´em, purge the deadwood off the roster and fill it up with as many studs as you can.

I believe my facts are straight. I guess you'll have to wait and see if you're right.

We had a max class in '12 minus AJL so how do we have spots for EEs?

This. I think we have 1-2 spots that can count backwards. It's irrelevant that we played below 85 for the purposes of the 25 'new counters' rule.

That said, if I were AG, I'd probably want to get as many kids into this class as I could, as the sanctions will likely hit a year out. He should be able to get more than 15.

If we self-impose, I get the 15. Otherwise, it makes no sense. Based on roster space, we should be able to fit 20 kids in.
