If this kid goes sub 10 this season, he shouldn't even go to college, he should sign a sponsorship contract, go pro in track and focus on that. Be the next Usain Bolt. From what I've seen, I'm not sure he's a good enough football player to ever make it to the pros. Even if he does, he won't be making the big money and if he's lucky he'll last long enough to play maybe 5 years. If he has a legitimate chance to be the next premier sprinter in the world, he should take it and focus on track. Whether that's in college or straight to the pros, track should be his number one priority. My money is that he ends up at LSU, Florida, or Texas because they have outstanding track programs. I'll dont think he'll see many snaps on a football field. Just my opinion.

kid just ran a 10.15 100m to break jeff demps fl relays record

He might want to seriously consider leaving football alone, and focusing on track. THAT fast as an 11th grader is way beyond elite and special.

This kid should be running under 10 while he's still in high school next year.

Unless he LOVES football, I'd be telling him to hang up the football cleats and just keep the track spikes.

Maybe cause he realizes you can do both. If the kid loves both sports he'll probably do both unless he starts running under 10, well below under 10 consistently things could change.

IMO, based on the kid's production to date, his entire football game will be based on his elite speed. If that's the case, a football injury to his lower extremities could derail his professional prospects in both sports.

If he leaves high school running under 10, he has a definite future as a professional sprinter. There is no way this kid has already peaked. So, if I knew him ... I'd have him think long and hard about the risk

Time will tell you never know. If it were me I'd do both.

Offer the kid a track scholarship along with the younger Burns. Don't let them OV or get an official offer for football that way they can practice with the football team if they want and the scholarship will still count towards track.

Don't work like that homie, that's the bear Bryant rule. Second they practice with the football team they are counted as football players

Hasn't there been countless threads discussing this all ending the exact same way...with the agreement that as long as the player is not "recruited" as in takes an OV or is offered an official scholarship letter, then they can practice with the team, and their scholarship isn't transferred to football until they play/suit up for a game.

It doesn't matter. This kid is being recruited by most of the major football programs in the Southeast and every major track program in the country, and you think he's going to come to Miami on a track scholarship? He's going to go on OV's to Florida, LSU and others, get pitched in home by big time HC's and their assistants, and then end up at Miami without taking an OV or getting in home coach visits? Plus, everyone knows scholarship football players get treated the best with all the best perks.

Come on man. If this kid wants to take a deal like that, it ain't going to be to Miami. It'll be at one of the better track programs in the country like LSU, Florida or Texas. If you want this kid, you're going to have to recruit him as a football player even you not sure he ever plays a down. It's insane to think otherwise.

I didn't realize how fast Tyson Campbell is.

The more people hype up Schwartzen's speed, the bigger the red flags are when it comes to asking why he never amounted to anything at AH. Kid should have a 10 minute highlight reel of 80 yard TDs and 100 yd KO returns. Instead, i see two, TWO receptions in the entire reel.

Something smells awfully fishy about this kid.

Bruh, for the last time they did NOT throw the ball much for whatever reason. Have you ever watched AH play a game??? IMO, their OC wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. They probably only averaged a little over a hundred yards a game passing. I highly doubt if they threw the ball twenty times a game. The run/pass ratio was 80/20. I guarantee you that their leading receiver didn't have 400 yards on the year. WTBS, the senior receivers they had just signed with Pitt, Michigan St. & W. Michigan respectively. The kid would do numbers in an O that actually uses him for something other than blocking for runningbacks. Schwartz is a playmaker...

Post is more of a reflection on you than anything.

Why is no one else asking this question? I just saw him just DESTROY the competition in the 100m. He was literally 10 feet ahead of the pack, and this was against other elite track stars. How in god's name does this kid not have 15 TDs and 1500 yards receiving? Why isn't this kid the consensus #1 WR in the country?

Something does not compute. He must have some serious flaws when it comes to actually playing football vs running track.
