I'm not saying he's Justise Winslow, but I see a lot of his game in there with the athleticism. Some Andrew Wiggins in there too as far as size/guard skills with his length.

I think he's got some work to do in adjusting to ACC play (as most Freshmen end up needing), but if he can get settled into the rotation somewhere and get some valuable burn early in the Non Con schedule...he'll be a key piece off the bench next year.

Does the *** rating result from poor level of competition or what?

ESPN (98th in the country) and 247 (115th in the country iirc) have him ranked as a 4*. However, the 247 composite has him ranked as a high 3*. The websites do not grade based off high school games instead using aau games. Anthony Lawrence played in the EYBL league which is the best amateur league in the country. 30 or so AAU teams are selected and play against each other. Hundreds of coaches in the gym every time there is a tournament.

Lawrence played for E1T1 which is Amare Stoudamare's squad. He played with Antonio Blakeney and Ben Simmons who are both top ten players in the country. He didn't overstep his boundaries and played his role to help his team win games. Tacko Fall (the 7'6 kid he dunked on) was also on that E1T1 team

Also on that team was Duane Bacon who signed with FSU. He wanted to come to Miami but we already had the Lawrence commitment.

The Level of play in Florida especially Central Florida has grown in the last 7 - 10 Years. I am not saying we are NYC, Philly, NC, Ga or DMV but we have come a long way. Look at all the kids from Florida on all the Top Conference's programs. As was mentioned above one of the top AAU programs in the EliteYouthBasketballLeague (EYBL) E1T1 is based in Central Florida.

Agree. Lance Crawford was the 5th guard on E1T1 last year and is already averaging 9-10 ppg at UMASS Lowell. Kobe Eubanks is deciding on a college soon and the other 3 are going to be stars. Russell is going to be a top 5 pick, Joel berry will have a significant role for UNC next year, and Grayson Allen had a coming out party at the national championship game
