Another weird, frustrating end

And I guess we conceded the game when we sat Cam but since we essentially just ran the ball every down until we couldn't so might as well have kept him in? And I guess they sat George too? It's like on these bowl games there's either one hand tied behind our back or we tie it ourselves.

I don't know, I kind of get it but if we're sitting a healthy Cam for a whole half why not just tell him to move on and play Emory? Still almost won in spite of it all.

Oh man this defense. What's to say? I'm assuming we'll get a new DC and I have to imagine you're going to see at least 5 or 6 new starters next year from the portal. Maybe more. Dyoni Hill made me miss Jadais Richard. Time to seek football at a lower level young man. Best of luck. By the same token you'll notice they threw at OJ once early on and then never again. So we have 1 corner coming back. That's a start. Need another safety too. Need a LB or 2. One Edge at least. Probably another DT.

Anyway I've been a resident sunshine pumper for a long time but I'm done with the expectations game. I'll enjoy when we win and be sad when we lose and be on these boards way too much for news and updates but I'm done playing "this is the year maybe."

Hey maybe one day we will be an actual contender. But I'm not counting on it. No expectations so no heartbreak right? And no, wheel of coach won't solve it. Few will agree but staying the course with Mario is the best bet. He does bring in talent. And watching corches like Day and Sarkisian make it this far is proof that it's a lot more about stockpiling talent. **** it was enough to put Larry Coker in the record books.

It would have been nice to actually win this one but we would have needed a full deck and we didn't even come in with one.

Oh and we can stop the debates and freak outs about whether Emory is going to be the starter next year. There was about zero chance of that before the game and there's even less now. They don't even trust him enough to run the offense in a fairly meaningless bowl game so they're not handing him the keys in 2025.

Really disappointing. We had that 11th win and let it slip thru our fingers. The whole Ward thing is weird. Was it his decision which would be really odd or was it a preplanned coaching decision. If it was the coaches and you are trying to see what emory has why did u not even let the kid really attempt to throw a forward pass? Probably because they know what we know, the kid ain't it...another disappointing finish to a season with no answers currently on the horizon...Hopefully the spring portal brings us an answer at QB. Would love to throw the bank at martinez and have him lead a 3 headed monster at RB behind a veteran OL...not sure all 3 of them would agree to coexist under those circumstances though.

Starting to wonder if they HAD to play Emory because Cam was only playing a half. Starting to doubt everything that's been said the past few weeks. If that was always known, why was Emory so unprepared? Why couldn't he throw the ball? He's had weeks to prepare - and supposedly looked great in practice. (I don't believe that at all anymore) Seems to me if there was some deal made for Cam to play a half, they KNEW Emory wasn't the guy from the start.....

Could be. If they already knew Emory was this bad why not bring Mendoza in? Maybe they did try and he told them no? Who knows but my God this team needs a portal QB desperately next season to bridge the gap to Nickel (hopefully he pans out). Would love to throw an even bigger bag at martinez to give it 1 more year but doubt he does after today's performance

It would be nice to go to one of these bowl games with our actual starting QB for a whole game like Iowa State had with Becht. Last year too against Rutgers when we threw out another trash backup QB

Btw the more I think about it Jacurri better then Emory and that's scary to think

I keep going back to that. What's the plan here? Cause it can't be Emory. I get it this portal class of QBs are not s#xy but look at what Auburn went after and they badly need a QB. lol I still take any of those guys over Emory. That Stanford QB they got is looking better and better to me right now

I said it before the bowl selection. Miami always seems to get matched up with some random a$$ team with everything to play for and little to no opt outs (I know their best WR opted out last minute) but it would be nice to have a full squad for one of these. Today the win was right there. If ward plays the whole game miami wins easily

Fun season, gonna have a lot of fun memories but sucks the way it ended. Again.

Next year can’t be 2018 again. Time to **** or get off the pot

Also tired of Mario never answering any questions about anything.
