Another thing about this class

An important aspect about this class, in my opinion, is the number of kids that come from winning and/or high profile high schools. Most of the guys in this years class know how to win. There are a few exceptions, but the majority of the class has championship or playoff game experience against tough opponents. I only looked up the high school kids team records, but it's still a good indicator. They know what it's like to play on a big stage (albeit only high school) against some of the best competition in the country. I feel like that bodes well for the future as they know the work it will require to become consistent winners.

Northeast: 10-2
Don Bosco: 8-3 (hard schedule & past success)
Northwestern: 9-3 (down year & tough schedule)
Wayne Hills: 11-1 (2011) state champs?
Karr: 14-0 state champs
Miramar: 13-1 (2011) state champ appearance
Southridge: 3-7 (very tough schedule)
Tottenville: 10-1
Moeller: 12-3 state champs
Hun School: 3-2?
Lake Mary: 11-1 (only loss in playoffs)
Middlesex: 4-7

Anybody else feel like this important?

Honestly, I don't think it's important. I remember Shannon saying he just wanted to recruit winners.

I feel like there is a difference between just winners and winners against some of the toughest competition in the country in high profile programs.

(I realize Lake Mary isn't high profile lol)

Champions are champions. Some kids are just surrounded by inferior talent. If you have the "drive" to be the best as an individual and work your *** off but play with a bunch of slap ****s, how is that within your control?

If player A (great program) and player B (terrible program) are 100% equal then yeah.....go with the good program. But things are never equal. Very, very small piece in the equation if you ask me.

Doesn't always mean much. Look at the 06-08 baby bulls. We all swallowed that crap about how we're bringing in winners. Didn't mean jack ****. Instead, we brought in entitled guys who didn't work that hard.

I like the number of commits we got who look like they are going to kill someone on the field by the time they finish their UM career.

Carter, Bond, Figueroa, AQM, Kamalu, all look and play like they are trying to break people in half. Gall looks like mauler, just a blue collar battler ala Chris Myers.
Odogwu looks like a force of nature ready to be unleashed. Grace looks like Sean Spence's football twin. Burns looks like Antrelle Rolle with world class speed. Gus Edwards, Coley and Sandland all look like future next level players skill players.
Key thing is they all look like football players. Hard nosed, tough, athletic, ready to kill for The U.

And we also have Olsen who we all expect to be the second coming of Dorsey.

It's really about the individual kid and how they respond to adversity. If you get a kid from a great program "that is used to winning" then it could be difficult to get a read on how they actually react when **** goes bad for them; they're third on the depth chart etc. after they've been told they're the greatest for the past 4 years of high school.

I trust the staff and their evaluations on the drive and determination of these kids.
