I don't usually do this, but a lot of digging and I was surprised to find film of a South Florida receiver whom I don't think I've ever read about on here.

I was pretty shocked by his film, DJ Edwards, of Palm Beach Lakes. Looks like 6'1-6'2 and 170-180. Guy has really good body control, very nice size and upside, some good looking hands, and oh yeah, a great burst, quicks, and can go deep. He actually reminds me of a Wall Street version of Scott........if Scott was actually explosive and fast.

Junior Season - DJ Edwards highlights - Hudl

Thoughts?

Why so low? Between his size, being a deep threat, and showing some excellent short area quickness when surrounded by multiple defenders, I would put him right below jeudy and smith for our second wave of targets (low plan a; strong plan b kid). I actually like his film a little more than Matt Landers.

Looks like he's headed to Kentucky, plus we haven't even offered him yet.

I understand but his senior year has not started and the signature is not on the dotted line. I've been following recruiting 20 plus years. Every year there are local kids that blow-up their senior years and get late offers.

This kid seems to be in that potential territory.

So let me get this right.

You spend your time just watching random high school kids film trying to find the next "gem" in hopes that this information somehow gets to the coaching staff ???

He has 27 offers, he already blew up and the only P5 schools that want him are Kentucky and WVU

On top of that, he plays bad competition and his team finished 3-8.

I wish this kid the best, but he looks like another Al Golden special. Our new coaching staff is targeting bigger fish

No. Just having a simple discussion. People with a minimal IQ prerequisite are allowed to participate.

How does being on a bad team project am individuals success in college? That makes no sense. The competition thing I can understand, though. His physical attributes, though, size, quickness and deep speed are all there.

Yes he does have a lot of offers but again this is PRIOR to his senior year, rook. A lot of gems can get lost from people chasing only the same guys repeatedly. I would clearly take this kid over Scott and although i like Dingle a lot, this kid has a lot of skill.

I forgot to mention Edwards did not even have a spring. The guy hurt his shoulder. So these offers are based on not even seeing him with hypothetically increased skill and/or physical development.

Dude, give it up, he's not getting an offer.

Wait a second, hamburgerhipster = DJ Edwards???????

Hmmmmmmmm

That's exactly what he doing. Trying to find a gem and then get credit for it.
And no one has ever said "Wall Street version" in any context. You're trying to hard.

Yea I'm the rook, well lets see numbnuts

You just said a kid that isn't being recruited by ANY of the Florida colleges, bad competition(that he doesn't dominate btw, that's the significance rook), and an extremely limited route tree ( unlike Kevaughn Dingle ) as a "plan B" guy...are you Al golden in disguise?? He isn't even that fast, he's probably a mid 4.5 guy Mr. "I've been following recruiting for 20 years" and I can't find anything that has him invited to any of the Florida camps...unlike Rishard Dames( a true underrated SFL prospect ) who showed up at UM's camp and blew the staff away. We're on 7-8 different WR's that are heads and shoulders better than him.

Go back to the drawing board rook.

De'Andre Wilder was apparently running the camp circuit on a bum ankle....it's more like the kid wasn't invited anywhere
