Another ESPN coverage rant

Good outcome obviously but it was a really weird frustrating watch on TV. They kept cutting away for nonsense and actually missing some live action. The announcers seemed almost disinterested and covered the game more like an NFL preseason game than a crucial conference game for a top 10 team. For instance we're in a two minute drill before half and instead of the action or any commentary on what's happening we're seeing 10 minutes of Cam's pregame calisthenics routine. Riveting.

When we went up 3 scores, and then after a penalty we inexplicably tried an onside kick? And it's barely even shown and not discussed at all.

Just stuff like that all game and it was driving me nuts. Anyone else?

This was after Lyles unsportsmanlike penalty so we were kicking farther back. Tried to squib it since there was no shot at a touch back and WF already returned a kick.

I played the mark jones drinking game today and drank every time he said liberty city Miami Gardens and Carrol City. Needless to say I’m ******* hammered.

The coverage was an abomination as usual. Mark Jones is he tries way too hard. The color commentator was passive aggressive the whole game. He yelled (like he was Wake Forest’s NWA wrestling manager during a late 80’s promo interview with Telly Schiavoni ) that one of their players “JUST DESTROYED THE MIAMI HURRICANESssssssssss!!!!!” Huh???

The constant slobbing of their RB Demond Claiborne was crazy. They said he was an unstoppable force, one of the best players in the ACC and showed his stats at that time in the 3rd quarter 56 yards 3.3 yards a carry.

They actually had “sights and sounds of the Hurricanes defeat to Georgia Tech” and it was a pre made mash up of Cam getting sacked and GT scoring on us. I’ve never heard of that segment before.
