Has arrived at Fork Union... He's ready to go, still planning to play both ways this year for them

Would prefer to see him stick to a position, but whatever. If he's going to be a WR, and his school has halfway decent coaches, he can really use the year to polish himself in and out of breaks. He certainly has the skill set.

Peter what position do you think he's better at and what do you see him playing when he gets to Coral Gables?

He was uncoverable in the All-Star game. I thought I remember hearing he was the most impressive WR all week in practice.

Peter, I hear he's a great cover corner, as well. From an team impact perspective, and his career perspective, do you still think he should be at WR?

Yes, I think he's a good, physical corner. I just think he is potentially special at receiver, I'm talking NFL-type ability. He would have been a serious contender for playing time this year. He will most likely stick at receiver because the coaches love his game-breaking ability.

On a side note, I like him more at safety than corner.

Disagree. I think he could possibly be a stud on either side of the ball. Would rather see him get a look on both sides. Could cut some time off from what our coaches need to see before deciding which side of the ball he plays on. We could really use a stud safety. Not really sure we have one true safety yet out of this years class and next years. Maybe Carter is the closest one and all his highlights are on punt returns. Kind of hoping AJL might turn out to be the other.

If they're really thinking about looking at him from both sides of the ball, he's not going to show them anything where he's currently playing. He'll have to show it on campus and at the elite college level. So, if it's to "cut time," I think it's pointless.

All that said, while I agree we need a Safety, we also need a #1 WR. I think he can be that guy.

Playing both ways will make him a better player. As a WR, knowing the nuances of CB position is very valuable, and vice versa.... I think it's a good idea, until he gets here.

I really wish he could've made it in to school this year, in any case I feel like he'll be worth the wait next year.

As long as he's all solid to The U it's all good. Sounds like he is cause I'm sure he could've enrolled immediately somewhere else. You gotta love kids that are willing to go prep to make it to Miami instead of going somewhere else right away.

AJL is fast, but he does not have elite speed. And if he does end up at WR, what does it matter if he plays some defense this year? WR is the easiest position to contribute early on. It's not like his progression is gonna be slowed down just because he plays some defense.

It's good that he's learning more about defense there, but I hope he's a WR at Miami. I don't think we're going to be having the troubles we've had in the past getting DB's to The U. AJL was the marquee WR from a pretty **** good WR class. A class where we also loaded up on DB's.
