It is cookie based now instead of database based. This means it could show different results as far as read status across your different devices since they will each have their own cookies. This was originally stored in the database and very accurate but during games and other times when massive refreshing is going on it has to write each of those refreshes which causes massive server strain.

This stopped working when we changed our icons over to css sprites which is for performance reasons. I think I could probably accomplish both so I will add this to me list.

Scroll to the very button and you will have to style choices "Full Site" and "Mobile". Click mobile.
