First of all, this site = GOAT

Having said that, I've been thinking about a minor change. As we all know, a lot of players/former players/families read these boards. This is both good and bad. I was reading through the gameday threads, and there are some great posts in there. Almost like a play by play for those who can't watch the game.

However, there are also some incredibly offensive posts. This just comes as a result of posters being in the moment and posting their frustrations (some are pretty **** funny too lol) during an emotional game.

I've seen things like "**** that ****** (insert player name)", "DIAF", racist comments, and other posts that we really dont want players or their families to come on here and read. There are some really bad things in there.

I was just thinking maybe we could delete the old game day threads, or at least do something. We definitely don't want to do anything that takes away from the greatness of this site.

Anyways, just something I've been thinking about. I know you guys usually appreciate input from the commoners around here. Thanks again.

Move them to the classic boards would be the best imo. Definitely if the people just view as guest they won't see the classic board.

I think this is more of an issue re: recruiting. When I saw that Tracy Howard's mom was reading some of the things said on various Canes sites, I got a bit concerned. Luckily, nothing came of it.

I have not seen any racist posts either, dayum I wish this site was around when Teddy was being recruited! That kid wanted to be a Cane, but so many people slammed Jacory and he deserved it ,but not in the public!!!!

But that kinda stuff happens on everyones message boards, if they have a lot of traffic.

You can't really control it. It's out there and some of it is ugly. But surely we aren't the only fan base that say stupid things?

Also I've never seen racist stuff on the game day board.

It is a very difficult thing to control. The reason for creating the gameday board was to keep that type of stuff off of the athletic boards. From my understanding the players parents are warned about visiting message boards and the types of messages that will be there. I believe the understand that our fans are passionate and can say things they don't really mean in the heat of the game. There are a handful of parents that post here and probably a greater number of potential recruits parents. We will continue to delete unnecessary post about recruits but I am not sure we could change the gameday board without making it worthless.

Ban them.

The pussification of america continues.

Seriously though, it would be a very hard thing to control and I agree with drew and like the idea that the gameday threads certainly separate out the crap you're talking about from the actual football board. I think it's effective the way it is.

Thanks for the responses. Again, I wasn't saying it was a big issue. Just something that could potentially cause a problem in the future.

As for the "racist" stuff, I guess it was more oriented in the back and forth banter between Nights and everybody else that happens occasionally (nothing serious though, and again a lot of it is pretty hilarious)

But nontheless, this is an absolutely fantastic sports forum and we all appreciate the work that is being put into it.
