Gregory in Fuquay-Varina, NC writes: Heather,Life-long Miami fan here. So, with our season over and me not even caring about the rest of the ACC (since the SEC blow-out last weekend), where do you see Miami for next year? Lots of strong, young players on this team (and work needing to be done on the defense). Assuming Coach Golden stays (please stay Al, PLEASE!!!), can this team be a pre-season top-10? Humor me!

HD: I'm not sure how many voters would be willing to give them that much credit coming off a seven-win season, but that doesn't mean they won't deserve it. You heard it here first: Miami is my pick to win next year's ACC title. Miami is going to have the best offensive line in the ACC next year. Recruiting continues to be going very well. The worst of the postseason sanctions could be behind them (should be). Al Golden isn't going anywhere. I don't need to humor you, Gregory, I'm starting the Miami hype machine now.

Can we finally live up to the hype next year?

Oh LAWD when does spring football start ....ugh wish I was watching my canes take on FSU tomorrow night at 8 but ohh well

Operating on the assumption that the D improves (even if only "moderately") - this team should win 10 games.

They will be, at this point, underdogs in two games next year - home vs Florida, and away vs. Florida State.

The days of battling with Virginia will be over.

I'll probably sound like a broken record by the start of next season, but two JUCO Defensive Linemen will completely change this defense around. We are looking at about 4, so, keep your fingers crossed!

Can't believe I just fapped to Heather Dinich

Not to mention she belittled FSU down below...she has plenty of material for you!

HD: I don't know why Florida State fans think their program is above the ACC. Last I checked, the Noles lost to NC State and haven't won an ACC title since 2005. Obviously that could change on Saturday, but c'mon. FSU just turned the ball over five times against Florida. You really wanna go line up against Alabama and LSU on a regular basis? The grass isn't always greener. Stay in the ACC and win.

What's that old addage: If you cant raise the bridge, lower the river.

Will the Canes raise the bridge next year or will the ACC river be lower???

I too use to say Miami should bolt to the SEC. But with some thought... Miami and FSU could become the LSU and Alabama of the ACC... all we have to do is start winning and then we can recruit who we want when we want... Just win **** it...

I think it will be a perfect storm of both. Other than UNC, i don't think the coastal will be very good. Duke loses Renfree, GT replaces washington with Vad Lee (lulz), UVa will be breaking in Phillip Sims, and he did look good, but he couldn't be a game manager at bama. I don't have alot of confidence he'll be a gamebreaker in UVa's offense...plus its virginia. Depending on Logan Thomas's decision VT could have a decent season, plus that game is on the road...but strangely I'm not worried. The way we played against them was very inspired. I think thats one rivalry the young guys have really bought into.

Our depth should be really nice next year. I mean, we're gonna be rotating in talented young guys who all have some game experience. Our offense should be the best in the ACC, if not Top 10 in the country. Our Defense will be lower-upper tier of the ACC (make sense?) maybe 4th or 5th. That will be enough for us to go 7-1 maybe 6-2. If we lose in conference, it will be to VT, FSU or UNC. OUt of those 3 i think we at least take one. I'll be more optimistic than realistic since its ******* december and say we go 7-1, and 3-1 OOC (with a loss to UF....****)...and we go 10-2, 7-1. Yayer.

9-3 and I'm thrilled. 2014 is a 10+ win season. We never fall again. Al is here until he retires. My two....
