Alvin Puefua 2024 DT/NT from Utah as a Miami Recuit, is a massive 6'4" 340lbs heavy handed player he is light on his feet an extremely strong at the point of attack. Puefua is moved up in competition by transferring to West HS in Salt Lake city, UT, he previously played at a small parochial school so his senior year evaluation will be critical for him in recruiting. West HS had several players make a trip to Miami this spring thanks to the connections with Coach Salave'a.
Puefua has made several trips to Utah and Oregon this spring, but remains under the radar nationally. Utah offered, Oregon is slow playing him while waiting on his senior year evaluation.
His cousin Dave Uili signed with Oregon in 2023.
Puefua is still raw and needs to improve his technique along with staying lower, all of which a clinician like coach Salave'a can correct. Puefua takes a blue collar approach to playing in the middle which exactly the mentality a NT needs. Puefua's raw strength combined with his heavy hands always him to overpower linemen out west which is a significant point because polynesian olinemen are typically known for strength. Miami is looking to add size in the middle for 2024 class and Puefua definitely could provide that size.
