For comparison’s sake, our 2012 defense that finished 116th overall in total defense allowed 31.8 ppg against ACC opponents.

Just a truly disgusting performance. We just needed the defense to be average, and they were historically awful.

That sums up the last 20 years of Miami football. The worst case scenario always seems to happen.

This falls squarely on Mario because we have a G5-level back 7 in year three.

Completely unacceptable.

I’m sure Guidry will be gone, if for no other reason than perception on the recruiting trail. That’s the one thing Mario truly understands/cares about.

His best bet is probably a wunderkind up-and-comer that nobody’s ever heard of like when Jim Harbaugh hired Mike McDonald at Michigan.

But hard to expect a guy like that to rebuild an entire staff.

He’s gonna have to find a proven guy who can assemble a staff and recruit.

If he botches the 3rd DC hire, he probably won’t get a 4th.

whoever it is, it is never going to work if you dont allow the guy to make his own changes. ive said it for years now. Joe needs to go. we haven't developed a single DT since hes been here and Cici has a single season left in college. if youre going to hire a new dc, you clean house. let him bring his own guys in. thats it.

Was he responsible for Seuseu Alofaituli out of Bishop Gorman?

Either way, nobody should be safe on defense.

I agreed same with the offense

If teams threw ball around like now, back in 12, that would have been by far our worst defense/secondary ever. While this d sucks, coaching and scheme is a bigger part than the players, other than Porter, IMO.

Yeah, I don’t think we allowed 30+ points a game because Big Joe was on staff. He’s just a figure head because JT seems to do all the coaching.

Guidry brought his own guy with Jackson and their units were the Achilles heel all season, don’t think it mattered if Guidry brought in his own LB and DL coach

They need an "analyst" to come in and run the defense if they get into the playoffs.

If Saban can hire Sark before a title game then we can do it.

Who do you have in mind that’s unemployed or elsewhere?

Excellent breakdown with stats and projections included. I don't think most of us understand how volatile and downright nasty the situation may be. Doesn't look good from a nobody like me. Strong evidence supporting ideas pretty much is enough and telling.

We just aren't allowed to be good on both sides of the ball at the same time. When one side gets really good, the best you can hope for is mid af. That's just the rules.
